I like to think that (actually, in the cut scenes from "Alien") Brett was being turned into an egg that would contain a Queen facehugger. The same could apply to adult aliens that get to Earth. Edit: Originally said Kane but changed it to Brett
@screenPhiles2 күн бұрын
You mean ‘Dallas.’ And as far as egg being created for the purpose of birthing a Queen, I’ve never heard that. It’s possible, but transforming people into eggs has never been introduced, never mind fleshed out, in the feature films (it was from a cut scene).
@rajman76442 күн бұрын
@@screenPhiles True "eggmorphing" hasn't formally been introduced, but that is the prevailing theory from the cut scene as to what was happening with (I meant to say) Brett, since Dallas was still alive and human and imploring Ripley to kill him. And it's sci-fi, they can basically make up anything they want. Remember the xeno spitting acid at Christie in Alien: Resurrection?
@screenPhiles2 күн бұрын
@@rajman7644 True, it hasn't but supposedly that's what we were witnessing. And as far as Aliens spitting acid goes - I remember the guy with dreadlocks, Gary Dourdan, but not the how of what killed him - but that's fairly stupid and it bugs me whenever I see it because it implies a level of intelligence that the xenomorph doesn't consistently display. Besides, in traditional Alien lore its blood was acidic, but it doesn't spit blood, which implies its saliva was acidic? That's different (and also kinda dumb because it's like Dr. Evil's plan to put laser beams on sharks, which is funny because it's overkill).
@rajman76442 күн бұрын
@@screenPhiles Yeah the spitting acid was dumb since there have been a lot of scenes of humans touching alien saliva and not getting burned. Again they can structure this however they want because it's a made up world.

When Alien and Alien's no cgi was in them everything both hands was use in it
@screenPhilesКүн бұрын
Okay? There’s certainly a place for CGI, particularly in movies of that nature (it’s easier to create a bunch of CGI Aliens rather than have a bunch of guys in Alien costumes). Besides, you have to keep in mind that CGI wasn’t as far along then as it currently is (though James Cameron is a bit of a purist though I have no doubt Ridley Scott would have used it if it were available to him).

James Cameron didn't undermine the franchise. Aliens is the best thing a sequel could offer. If you want to fight about it we can tussle. Put your dukes up buddy. btw, the ability to gestate humans into eggs using the secreted goo was never made into cannon as far as I know, it was a cut scene from Alien.
@screenPhiles3 күн бұрын
You’re not understanding what I mean by undermine. Prior to Cameron’s ‘Aliens’ the creatures weren’t compared to insects. He was the one that introduced that aspect, with the Aliens being essentially bees (or ants. Take your pick). He even gave them a ‘Queen,’ for christ sake! Though I am not saying that ‘Aliens’ wasn’t awesome, though what I am saying is that Cameron introduced ideas that in the long run weakened the franchise.
@williamturner-v1s2 күн бұрын
@@screenPhiles I don't know if we can say he weakened the franchise because we don't know what would have happened if he never made it. Relative to most sequels it was a huge success and I would say it it made it stronger. Weather you like the insect aspect or not is a personal take. I personally thought it made alien larger than life. The queen scene along with the entire movie is great cinema.

@@williamturner-v1s We're talking about different things. Both ideas - that 'Aliens' is an awesome movie and the introduction of the idea that the Aliens were essentially big insects by Cameron's reckoning - can be held at the same time. The only opinion is how it's believed to have effected the franchise going forward.
