Why can they never get the casting right. It' means everything. The casting of Mary is wonderful. Jem, not bad at all - but Josh Merlin...😖 This just ruined the movie for me.

The book is set in Cornwall. So yes.

@@isobelduncan I know the BOOK is set in Cornwall because I just read it. The question was whether the accents in the FILM were right. Because I went on one of the accents sites while I was reading, just to get the correct mental image and they seem quite different.

Could be fairly correct to what the accents would have been like when the book was set...which I believe is the 1820s. Regional accents have changed quite a bit, especially over 200 years.
