you’re right about it being a rough draft but they didn’t film the whole show 😂 just the scenes you see in the video! this was just so they could get it out there and hopefully get sponsors which they didn’t really end up getting but they did get picked up by channel 3 and that’s how gap is being played on tv in thailand now 😊 since they didn’t get sponsors the whole series is financed by their company who put a lot of money and effort into this (shoutout to saint their ceo he’s a real one and he’s really supportive of freenbeck) this version was scrapped bc they had to revise the entire script and some people left the company (one of the couples) also the final version of gap you see now just screams money and it’s filmed in really good quality bc of that investment by their ceo and yes! there will be spicy scenes in the next episodes.. 👀

Pilot Trailers in Thailand are usually shoot in order to attract investors/sponsors, which in the case for Gap The Series, it didn't happen. The industry was still a bit skeptical with regards on how profitable GL Series are. But Saint (CEO of Idol Factory TH) believe on his vision for the series, and that it will be a success so he used his own money in order to produce the series that we have now. Now, this pilot trailer was filmed like early 2022 (Jan/Feb) if I'm not mistaken, a rough draft of the adaptation from the Web Novel Gap Yuri which is an 18+ novel, thus the steamy scenes you have seen in here. There was actually a cut scene which was already mentioned on the other comments, the act of Mon going down on Sam in the office, I'm pretty sure there is still a video of that here in youtube. The pilot trailer was met with harsh criticism due to it being too sexualize, and the LGBTQ+ community actually said that the way it was filmed was meant for a man's gaze and not really depicting on the LGBTQ+ community. So the producer, director, script writer, and cast/crew, they all had to make research and consult the community in order to revise the whole script that they have so that they can deliver a well made GL. It was hard for them as this is the first one in Thailand, there is nothing to use as a guide, but it came out great, the series that we are watching now will be the guide for the coming GLs out there. They started filming the series around June/July 2022, thus the hairstyle difference from all the cast. Actually if you'll look closely there are scenes wherein Becky was wearing a wig, because she had to cut her hair short for a movie she was casted in, and the filming for Gap and the movie was on the same months. As for the official trailer of the series, I think there's not much of a spoiler, I mean most of the scene on the official trailer are found both on the OST MV and have already been shown or is on the starting credit of the series, so I doubt you'll get spoiled that much on anything. But there are scenes still that hasn't been shown yet. Also there were cast changes or not involved anymore on this series. Song was changed, the original actress supposed to play song had a conflicting schedule so she was not able to film for this, good thing they were able to cast another actress for the role. Kade was also changed, as you can see the Kade in this pilot trailer is different with the one playing Kade. Side couple (Apple Couple) as they call them, the one with biting scene, they had an issue with their contract, they were actually very visible during the filming process and even on the first GAP fansign, but almost by the end of shooting due to contract issue they were let go. And the scenes that they filmed was scrap out, and the script was revised last minute. The script writer said they can't cast any other actress to replace them, as the story for these 2 were perfect fit for them and they can't see anyone else to play their roles. That's how the chemistry of this side couples was good as well, just sad that they were let go. Now for Tee and Yuki, I think we'll see their story on the coming episode. I mean the one playing Yuki is now also a signed artist under Idol Factory. Let's just wait and see how they will show it, TMI: Yuki is not part of the Gap Yuri novel (Season 1), she was only added for the series. But according to the web novel writer on season 2 of the novel Yuki has been added.

There is actually a scene in this pilot trailer that was cut as it received a backlash. (The scene is basically Mon eating out Sam on her office desk). Not sure if you've heard Freenbeck saying on their interviews now that at the beginning they fell down hard, it's that backlash. The purpose of this pilot trailer is to show the public how the show is going to be more or less. Some characters, like the 2 couples who bit nose, sadly, had to leave due to contract disagreements. The actress who played Kade and Khun Song were also replaced. Also, there are 3 mini teasers you can react to - cute, hot, drama. They are spoiler free as well and same with this pilot trailer, they're more like pilot mini teasers. 😉

@Jace mostly Some said it's disrespectful, male gazey, looked p*rn and whatnot. The scene continued with SamMon getting caught by Ya and Mon denied it but Ya found a pubic hair on Mon's mouth. Some said that was a very bad joke. It was a pretty chaotic day and if I remember correctly it even made it to their local news. It was that big of a deal back then. Mostly it was the locals who voiced out their displeasure on that scene so perhaps culture difference played a part. It ended with that scene getting cut off from the pilot trailer.

They only filmed the pilot trailer so they could get sponsors (which didn't happen). It was first released as short teasers, if I'm not mistaken, but in the final version they had to delete some scenes because it was considered "too inappropriate", like de office scene (you can find it on youtube). It was really hard for them in the beginning, so now they are counting a lot with our support.

edit: it seems that ive gotten some info wrong & someone corrected some things in the replies !! pls read that as well :} > love your reaction !! from my understanding, they filmed scenes you saw in the pilot as a rough draft so that they can pitch the show to different tv networks. they didn't film the whole show, just rough scenes you saw that gives you the general idea of the plot. i think the reason why they scrap it is because the original novel the show's based on is 18+ and contained a lot of mature scenes, e.g. there was a deleted scene where mon was eating sam out in the office lmao (considering becky just turned 18 at the time, they didn't feel it was appropriate). they did kiss a lot more in the pilot tho !! hopefully we get to see more kisses and some spice in the current version, but personally I loved the way their intimate moments were shown in the current version; it focused a lot more on their yearning, playfulness and softness with each other (at least for now) the biggest change I think was sam's character, because in the novel + pilot she was especially way more harsh and cold; the novel writer rewrote the scripts and worked with the director to soften sam's character much more in this current version of GAP, and honestly, we all prefer the current version of sam lmao. another change was (as you mentioned), the 2 side couples other than sam x mon: tee x yuki, song x ice. their scenes were cut unfortunately (some due to contract issues like you mentioned) so it was focused more on sam and mon's development instead. but at this point of the current GAP series tee and yuki are in fact together already, and unfortunately lady song did die in a car accident (not sure what happened to her gf ice tho; in the novel lady song committed suic*de instead which is upsetting ..) you also mentioned some characters/actors were not seen in the official version, I think it's because they weren't able to set actors at the time and therefore had to switch some actors out (e.g. the character "kade" was played by someone else in the pilot), but from the opening it looks like we will meet new characters eventually !! and pool scenes !! yes we will get more pool scenes teehee

Some correction: author had no control over scriptwriting. She actually lied and deflected. Saint, a producer took criticisms well and held a meeting with academics to improve the series. He also took Thai Fans' suggestions into account and hired a new director who's already good with love scenes (he's somehow managed to make it believable and helped FreenBecky to go flow with it unlike the author who was anticipating for itchy scene. Author never worked with a director. She only reads scripts. Scriptwriters deserve a credit too). That scene wasn't criticised because of Becky's age (she was 19 not 18). It was common homophobic joke Thai wlw community was criticising for ages. Gap novel had overall negative view amongst Thai ppl. That's why there had to be changes in the series. But interfans were unaware due to language barrier. At least, Thai fans are liking the series better than novel so far.

@@khloros. Both interfans and Thai fans are now demanding idf to not to make season 2 but choose different GL project for FreenBecky instead. Gap2 novel apparently has weird changes in characters like Mon becoming housewife (which doesn't suit her personality at all), Sam still interacting with Kirk and asking him for sperm (IVF) even after manipulations and almost s*xual abuse he has done to Sam in book1(not in series at least. Scriptwriters changed Kirk a lot too), Sam potentially getting memory loss (tremor in brain), Mon suffering again and again, Sam invaliding Mon's feelings in few moments...something like that. I haven't read it fully since chapter 1 already annoyed me. None of author's writings made sense. Honestly, Gap the series is nothing like book1 and fans are totally aware of the difference. They like the series but not novels. So don't worry, series will never be ruined because of author. Series is safe from criticisms.

This Trailer Pilot was only filmed for 2-3days And it's only specifically for this. It's a common thing for Thai companies to do a pilot trailer first to get a feel of what the show will be like. However, after this pilot trailer was released, there was quite a backlash from fans. Saying that the pilot trailer is male-gazey, and that the character of Khun Sam is totally not like the novel at all as she isn't as violent or as expressive as she is here. (I agree on this). Also there were some negative comments about the styling and wardrobe, hence the complete overhaul for what we have now. This isn't that known but after the credits there's actually a bonus scene that was eventually edited out of this bec. fans demanded it to be deleted. (You can still see it on youtube if you searched) It's a scene where Mon was going down on Khun Sam and they were caught by 2 employees who walked in on them. There was a joke about pubic hair in it (This part is actually in the novel) But fans hated it saying it was a tasteless joke. They got some hate from homophobes too btw at that point. Freen got really sad about all the negative comments and it really hit her hard. After this everyone on the team had to re- evaluate again what to do and accepted all constructive criticisms. Thats why we have the Gap the series we have now. Also regarding the supposed 3rd couple Oaey and Jaja, they were eventually removed from the show due to rejecting the exclusive contract offer that IDF gave them. But they already filmed some scenes for the show at that point and it will never see the light of day...

thats not gonna be in the show, the book and the pilot trailer are different from the actual show, only in the second book sam losing her memory(not sure if the author changed it tho)in the show, or at least first season sam only experiencing a small part of her disease.

As far as I know, this pilot ver was done at the beginning, but then there were changes in the cast and stuff, which caused a lot of things to be changed in the series. I also do enjoy the version they currently have as well, i would've gone crazy when they included that office scene from the pilot teasers. The kissing scenes were done all over again, but I can assure you there will still be more in the future 😉 thank you for the reaction! I'm lit you while watching these 😅

Trailer Pilot is just their sneak peak to what will happen in the series but the scenes in this trailer pilot will not be included in the official show. If you may notice, there's another couple namely Oengoei and Kenlong but the management decided to not include them in the show because the actresses who supposed to portray the other couple refused to sign a contract with Idolfactory. It's unfair because their couple will play a big role on Sam and Mon's relationship in the original novel. Especially to Mon whose still a little undecided about her future with Sam. They could've casted another actresses to portray their roles but it's too late, the show is about to premier. That's why the team decided to not include those character in the official series. And the actresses of Kade and Khun Song is is also changed.

Almost every tv show has had a pilot made, (which is just a super rough draft.) Pilots are specifically made so advertisers/tv networks/investors/test audiences can see a rough vision of what the show could be. Pilots tend to be super different from the end product, often having different actors, sets, etc. Often pilot episodes aren't released, except occasionally on like special feature dvds. This is probably something along the lines of that. ❤

I only found GAP last Thursday after watching the trailer for Milk and Love’s 23.5…and I gorged myself on episodes 1-6. I was luckier (or unlucky) that I only had to wait two days for episode 7. With that said, waiting for episode 8 has been TORTURE, and I think shit is about to hit the fan with Kirk and his schemes. If he blames Mon for what he has been up to, I’m going to be so pissed.

No, they only filmed the pilot for 3days. Basically they have a different script, concept and everything based on their high level understanding of the story and what they wanted to showcase in the actual filming. And then after the pilot, they filmed the actual series which has more details and different script and everything. They adjusted some stuff based on the feedback they got from the pilot. So in short, the pilot trailer is done separately from the actual series

I want that sofa kiss scene! SOO GOOODDD but I think they'll never release it full cuz they don't have it full. Trailer pilot concept is like pilot concept in the NA where they deliberately film how the story would go for the executive producers out there.. The difference is that NA Hollywood actually film the whole episode 1 and most of the time wouldn't reshoot it when it greenlit by studios and actually air officially. So yes, this is rough idea from the novel with the production team adding fresh new ideas for new subplots and I'm guessing alternating the timeline as well. I feel like they really experiment things with this version to see how the public react.. they didn't receive good enough critics for this one unsurprisingly. Thus, they went numerous changes after and now we are seeing the best result. Sam here was the older older version of what we're actually seeing, so Freen had much difficulty portraying this one.. thus they toned Sam down age wise, and as the result we're seeing best Sam. And also by the time they start another pre production for the actual series, they have better reference material, which is the webtoon where Sam and Mon really look like FreenBeck. Their journey making this project is so fantastic, and I commend FreenBeck, Saint, and the whole cast&crew. They had so many hurdles. Especially in the post production where they actually lost 2 key actors for a key arc. So, they gotta act fast, adding new things, had to cut things.. but we still get the best product! About Tee and Yuki, they actually have their footage in our current version.. but had to cut it. So, the thing is, we could have one more couple, but the actors didn't want sign contract with IDF for long term, which I understand and IDF is a bit strict tbh.. so IDF scrapped that couple. So, I assumed same thing happened with Tee's actor, but her role as one of the gang is too crucial, so they just cut TeeYuki couple role. I'm hoping tho they can resolve that issue and give TeeYuki like in specials or something. All this happened after they finished filming and starts promoting the show btw. Amazing, isn't it?

OMG, I never watched someone react to the pilot trailer once the show was already ongoing. Your shock was priceless! And your "oh" face going to 🫠 as soon as "sam" smiled (siiiiimp!) during the paint credits! I'm sure it's been said already, but they didn't film a whole show. They filmed a "pitch" to garner investment for the actual series we're currently watching. There's so much more I want to comment on from your reaction, but I can't, so we'll have to experience it together once it airs, haha. Everything will be different, though. I heard they faced a lot of criticism for this first trailer, which makes me sad. But they came back stronger than ever, and the love (and views) speak for themselves! P.s.: I believe the couple that won't happen is the one they got inspired from while in the pool. Those actresses are out. Yuki and Tee are in. Have you seen how close they've gotten despite it having yet to be spelled out? (there was one extra scene in this pilot that got cut after the release due to - again - controversy - where Mon was going down on Sam. Nothing explicit. Just for comedic purposes. They get caught in the office by Yah and another colleague, and Mon still has a hair on her mouth. I JUST THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW.)

Pilot is a experimental footages they made before the actual shooting of the series happened. This is to get the feedback from fans too since the series is based on a popular novel. The story line is similar to the novel, but they changed some parts (the series right now changed some parts too by the way.) However, they got a lot of bad feedback from the fans from the pilot. The way they represented it wasn't very good. As a novel reader myself, I don't like it either, especially how they interpreted Mon and Sam's character in the pilot, and how they played out a certain scene. That's why you can see that the series is really not the same as the pilot since they re-interpret everything again to make it more aligned with the novel (characters, mood and tone, shooting style, etc.)

The unrecognized faces were some of the original cast who cancelled their contracts with IDF before they started filming the actual series. I think it was because at the time they weren't sure when they will start filming or when the series will air.

The trailer pilot was the first thing we got after casting, obv the whole show is based on the book and this was the Orginal take on it, and then they altered things later on to make the final product based on feedback and stuff. This was like a teaser to get people to see what it could be like

Also the two actresses that kissed didn’t renew there contracts so that’s why they aren’t in the show anymore, although they did film there scenes in the current show but it’s been cut out. kade and son actresses changed too. The way the current show is written is a lot more true to the characters of the book in my opinion

This pilot is really just like a sneak peak,the chemistry is but it's really a rough demonstration of how would it be for the drama...The series now is much more better,they did changed alot for the better...They go through lots of hardships and so glad the series is now doing so good,so yeah

GAP is originally a novel, which is why the story lines are similar in both, though I don't know how accurate it is to the novel itself since its hard to find an English version.

yes because pilot trailer is taken before the official shooting of the series to promote the series . which shows only the theme of the story in brief.You can see that the hairs are different and some of the casting are different from the offical series.All you need to know is that its just a trial.Thai series universe always do this they upload the trailer which is not official 1 year ago.

You should have waited till the season was over to watch this. People recommend this because they are used to trailers and previews, but if you are the type who want to be completely surprised, any kind of trailers even draft should be avoided, because there will still be similar plots, but with this show you can't avoid anything anyway as their pics are everywhere. I'm the same type as well, but I gave up at this point, as most people don't consider trailers as spoilers.

they filmed the scenes for this trailer in february 2022, the official filming for s1 started the end of june i believe. pilot trailers are not the official trailer, most of the time they’re really a draft and later they’ll end up adjusting and changing a lot of stuff for the official filming

They didn't film the entire show that would've been crazy 😭😭😭😭 like before they started filming the actual show they filmed this trailer of what the show could be to see the reactions of the public. So basically they only filmed a couple of scenes (which is still crazy to me)

tbh this trailer pilot was what made me so excited and waited for months for this series. i only found out not long ago that they received backlash for it because it's "too sexual". i've been watching shows from usa/uk/etc. that's why i feel like this is not sexualised just part of the drama and comedy. also, the comments here are so helpful, cos i was wondering where were the initial other actors that and which was the sexualised part.

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! So sorry I'm a little late, dude I saw clips of this trailer and I legit thought that most if not all was going to be in the Series (I was super confused but nervous and excited) and then I saw this and was like oops- 😆😅 Overall I think that this was actually really cute (and the reason why they didn't go through with this one is because it was too sexual, seriously one of the scenes at the end of this trailer- I saw it on another channel but it was very spicy Sam was on the desk while Mon was kind of "under" the desk, you can find clips of it), at 7:08 THIS SCENE SHOCKED ME WHEN I FIRST SAW IT I WAS LIKE WHAT, at 8:50 and yep Tee and Yuki are dating (they didn't show it as much), at 9:33 same just AHHH panic, at 10:33 THIS AND THE POOL SCENE ARE SOMETHING ELSE LIKE HELLO, at 11:44 not exactly Song got in a car accident and died but Ice wasn't in there, at 12:26 dude I legit was kind of heartbroken here if they have something similar in here I will not be okay, 14:10 this also broke me as well and the hug, at 15:04 this part was really cute, 15:35 I believe that is Song and Ice, and at 15:51 EVEN HERE THEY ARE KISSING AND HAVE GREAT CHEMISTRY LIKE WHAT (and same Tara same)!?
