For those of you wondering about how and when this will release, here's a quick rundown: The Star Wars Fan Animations Team will complete and release the Fan Film one scene at a time. Since SOTE is a Multimedia project with overlap, we will not be releasing based on game levels, novel chapters, or comic issues. Instead we will release individual scenes and sequences one at a time as they are completed.
The first scene we plan to release is Scene Three, which will feature the battle between Boba Fett and IG-2000 (You can already see four finished shots in this trailer) in the space above Tatooine, based on the following source material: The SOTE Comic issue #1, The Battle of the Bounty Hunters Popup Comic, the SOTE Galoob Toy Comic, the short story "Therefore I Am" from Tales of the Bounty Hunters, and the short story "A Barve Like That" from Tales From Jabba's Palace.

Finally, Shadows gets a new lease of life. I'm not big on the realistic art style (I personally would've liked something more cartoonish like The Clone Wars), but the fact that Voice Actors, Animators, and Writers have come together to create something close to a definitive rundown of the events in Shadows of the Empire, from Luke's POV in the main novel to Dash's in the game, is utterly remarkable. As frustrating as it is that the story is spread across three different mediums, with the book covering the core of the experience, Shadows of the Empire is still one of the cornerstones of the Classic EU, and so this fan animated film will introduce more people to such an important part of the Star Wars renaissance of the 1990s and early - mid 2000s.

I remember reading when I was a kid that the game I was playing was intended to by a movie but that it was scrapped. To this day I would have loved to see this story become a movie. I don't see why it can't be done even now. They've done other interquels/side stories like Rogue One. This would be a great one but then again I have doubts on the execution coming from Disney.

Nice work! You can fix the black artifacts in Luke’s hair by increasing the amount of Transparent bounces to 28 or 30 in the Cycles rendering settings. Shouldn’t impact render times.

It currently has the opening crawl, animatic for scene 3 and previz for scene 5. Those will be replaced when those scenes are finished. My other playlist has ALL of the EU animated and live action media you can watch on KZbin, including things I’ve made/am working on! The EU playlist has DarthAngelus’ Heir to the Empire animated fan film, SpikeyTortise’s Dark Empire, as well as UnrealCinema’s KOTOR stuff, Everest Productions Darth Plagueis and Maul stuff, and lots of other EU fan films!
