If you tack weld the bolt head to the shackle plate the bolts won't wear like that.

That's true, but it was a customer trailer, and I can't warranty a part that might fail if I have thrown and extra weld on it

How would the shackle move if it's welded in place?

@@jdhappy7663 it forces the bolt to rotate in the sleeve instead of the shackle rotating on the bolt

I was thinking welding both bolts on the shackle would keep it from but looking at it it makes sense now

Once you tighten the nuts down how much do you back them off? just so they have space between spring in the shackles and or frame mount and the spring?

You better not run that impact on those bolt heads to tighten them!

@@hillsidepowersportrepair8863 bolt was spinning in the shackle plates cause you used the impact on the bolt head and spun the bolt and destroyed the press fit. Bolt spinning is why the plates wear so fast

Not too tight, they need to be able to pivot
