I really like the swivel comfy chairs and small table, in addition to the dinnete under bed. We have a 27ft Dutchmen, Adirondak with couch slide out......nothing is comfortable to sit in. Can't wait to lay down in bed at night. Would love to find Karen's club chairs and table to replace our uncomfortable bench seat dinnete.

She just has a glow to her. Lovely to see her home and to hear a bit of her story. Nice thing about a little trailer like this is you can put it in a temporary set up like this, although, many cities might frown on it. I lived in trailers much of my childhood and none with a bathroom. Cool little set up. I like the use of the gray water. Water the trees and plants. So cute. It suits her.

Yeah, if you live in any kind of dwelling with associations, they mostly won't allow Rv's in driveway or front yards. I visit in the Chandler, Az area and can't even park my pickup with connected 16' trailer on the street overnight, very strict. I get it, most folks don't want to see Rv's.

(13:33) "People have gotten so confused with accumulating things when in fact memories are what life's all about." I agree, and that's probably the reason why I haven't yet started living in a trailer. I have too many memories, in the form of photos, mementos, and literature from my past and my travels. My wife and I have two daughters. I have dozens of albums and thousands of photo documenting their childhoods. They are both grown now and very busy with their own families. Neither have any room for the photo albums, so they take up a lot of space in my current house. One of these days I am going to have to go through each one and throw out the duplicates, the photos of places that don't have any family in them, photos I took on the job (I don't even remember the names of the people in any of those pics), and the pictures of old friends with whom I have lost touch. My kids might be interested in what's left. I spent almost 10 years working at jobs that kept me traveling around while my wife and children stayed in the house. I got to experience almost the entire United States. And get paid for it! As a result, I collected photos, post cards, patches, pins, t-shirts, caps, and other collectibles. They represent the 48 states I was able to visit. Hawaii and Vermont are the only two I have missed. I even got to go to one or two foreign countries as I worked. A lot historical sites sold books that describe their history in exquisite detail. So here are all these trinkets that I love. I pull them out occasionally and reminisce. But I was alone on those trips. My wife and kids have never seen 99% of those places, so they don't care. No one has ever voiced the opinion that they want to go to those places, so the tales of my travels bore them. So I have a ton of stuff that mean a lot to me, but not to anyone else. And almost none of it would fit in a trailer. Right now I am semi-retired. That means I still have bills to pay, so I have to work, but I do as little of it as I can get away with. I am an independent contractor, so I set my own hours, and even though I have to satisfy my clients, I only work when I want to. Some day I will finally be fully retired and on Social Security. I'm eligible, but not ready to start collecting. And when that day comes, I am going to have to purge myself of a LOT of that memorabilia and take with me only the most precious; the things without which I just can't live. They aren't THINGS to me. They are memories, and because, at my age, remembering the past is getting more and more difficult, I need those things to relive my joys.

Liddle Kiddle...you aren't kidding! I used to ride my horse on Bolsa Chica Beach. It was paradise. Then, they paved paradise and put up a parking lot. I was always one step in front of the urban sprawl. First move to Norco and then east of Temecula back when the 15 was a 2 lane highway. I got weary of moving so did the final BIG one - to 36 acres in the Ouachita National forest, Arkansas.

Hi Bob, Great tour. Could you please tell these sweet ppl that have so spaces but use of a toilet in their rig that they can bag their toilet and be more comfortable than sitting on a tiny bucket. Especially handicapped or older. The toilet bowl can hold a bag just as easily as a bucket. Then no need to waste valuable space with buckets 😊

Casita's are wonderful little units. I started RVing in a new, 2010 17' Casita Spirit Deluxe. I bought it to facilitate my first trip to the Burning Man Festival in NV. I had a GREAT time! I bought the Casita because I could pull it with the Toyota minivan I then had. I drove 50,000+ miles over four years, just doing extended-time RVing in my Casita. I've since "graduated" to a 2015 Dynamax DX3-37RB Super-C Class diesel puller but, I've recommended Casitas to many people looking to get started RVing. The Casitas (and Scamps) are a great way to "test the waters" before spending a lot of money buying a more traditional trailer or motorhome or, as Karen has shown, even living full-time in one. I hope Karen has a quick and complete recovery from her fall.

My husband and I just ordered our Casita. When he finally agreed to getting an RV, I decided that we needed one to last the rest of our lives. (We are both 44 now). But, if I outlive him, I fully intend to live out my golden years in this Casita we just purchased. The nomadic life is for me, although I do have a plan to build a chicken coop in the back of the truck, and try to keep a few garden pots back there too. Perhaps some day I will be known as the nomadic homesteader old lady. 😉
