Daniel Kremer on THE STRAWBERRY STATEMENT

I've always been very fond of it.

I read the book but never got a chance to see the movie. I think if I had watched this movie when I was a teen (early 80's) I would've loved it but seeing the trailer now it looks pretty cringe-inducing. Truth is I don't watch movies half as much as I used to. I do love the Trailers From Hell and I do think Daniel Kremer always has something interesting to say about movies from the time period that I love: late 60's/early 70's.

Roger Ebert stated when he saw it as a teenager in he also thought it was cringe, silly and condescending to the youth. He much preferred the film/documentary MEDIUM COOL, which came out around the same time. He said that was the film that really captured his youths era!
