This never gets old! I was raised in Lakeside, went to junior and high school Muizenberg (now Muizenberg police station) and my first job was typist in East Yard Simons Town Naval base. I’m 65 years old in a couple weeks. Thank you ❤❤❤

The 2 stops between Fish Hoek and Simon's Town, were Sunny Cove and Glencairn, if I am not mistaken... Grew up in Muizenberg in the 1960s and just loved that part of the world!!!

I was last there in 1978 . I loved the train and my mum took me on this train. The name Kenilworth suddenly came to mind. It must of been where we stayed. I have not thought about this for 40 years. Amazing how images can bring back memories.

I used to ride that line every day from Landsdowne to get home from school 1976 and 1977. Landsdowne to Retreat to either Simon'stown or to Fish Hoek to Simon'stown. All tickets all kaartjiies thank you dankie. Sometimes the train would be drenched around Kalk Bay from Spring tides.

We are trying to develop some of our famous train routes for Railworks Train Simulator, especially South African routes. Already two routes published by Dovetail Games and Steam. Would like a video of the whole route between Cape Town and Simonstown. Cab rides is what we are looking for. This great video of yours is exactly what we require. Any possibility in the future? Liked this video. I am searching for more cab rides from Cape Town to Simons Town. A friend of mine and I recreated the route from Pietermaritzburg to Ladysmith for use in Railworks 2014 Train Simulator. It is currently under review from the guys at Railworks. Would be the very first South African route for Railworks. Used cab rides extensively on that route. The Simons Town to Cape Town route is one of the next projects. If you can help with cab rides for the whole route we'll be much obliged.

***** Hi. The cab ride from PMB to Ladysmith. The guy in Durban who made the route with me, somehow got this cab ride video. How and where I am not sure. He is an ex-railway man (Johansteam) and send it to me on CD once we started with the route. The route itself is currently for sale at Steam, a few months now. Wish we had somebody that could build locos and rolling stock for SA routes. A one man job at the moment - which is overwhelming!

***** Currently the only South African Route route for Railworks 2015 is the Pietermaritzburg to Ladysmith route. Selling on Steam and Dovetail Games. Need the base game Railworks to run it. Registration at Steam is free, but unfortunately the Railworks game and the route is not :( Quite a few videos on KZbin of the PMB-LS route. We are busy on the next route which is nearing completion. A while ago I used default stuff from Railworks to do a few SA routes. This is freeware on UK Trainsim. Not correct though, because I used UK stock and 4'8" track. I did not have anything else at that stage.
