Soooo glad to find this video because I'm planning a trip from Vancouver to Seattle by bus this summer, and I've been considering taking Flixbus but now I think Amtrak is absolutely a good choice! The driver made the trip even better! Thank you so much for the helpful video! You two are such a lovely couple

Hi Jordan and Emily, glad you enjoyed your stay in Seattle Washington. Hope your stay in Vancouver British Columbia goes well too. I haven't been to Vancouver but it is supposed to be really beautiful and what you have shown so far looks great. Seeing the Mountains as a backdrop to the city is amazing. The practice of folding the end of the toilet paper must be an Australian thing, as I never saw that practice here in the USA. I can see the benefit as when you need some, you don't have to touch the paper underneath. A Plane is the fastest but traveling by rail or bus is usually more scenic.
@JordanandEmily Жыл бұрын
It's such a beautiful city! We absolutely love it! 😄 it must be an international thing, often in hotels overseas they fold it! the host might have found it a bit weird if it's not normal! 😆

Was there a kiosk inside the station where you had to do an immigrations/passport check in before getting on the bus? Or just at the border control?

how early do you recommend showing up before the bus departs?
@JordanandEmily Жыл бұрын
Really depends on your anxiety level 😄 we showed up early as you can see from the vid but you could probably push it to like 10 minutes before departure if you wanted

I was so glad to find this video because I have a trip planned on the Amtrak bus from Seattle to Vancouver next month! I have the same kind of travel anxiety so I wanted to ask, where outside of King Street Station did the bus pick up?
@JordanandEmily Жыл бұрын
I'm with ya on that haha! Once you get into the station bottom floor there are decent signs pointing you where to go, but there are heaps of staff to ask too! The location is just outside the station itself (like almost along the wall) so if you do a loop of the building you can't miss it. When we got there our bus was already waiting too. It's worthwhile getting to the bus maybe 10 minutes before boarding to get on board and pick your seat! Hope you get the same funny driver we had 😄

How are you keeping to your budget? Is it still the same as 2022?

Budget is still the same but it's incredibly difficult. Even with having a fee long house sitters. Hotels, air bnbs and even hostels immediately take us over our budget in ever North American city so far!

How many stops does the Amtrak Connecting bus have? I am planning to book a trip from Vancouver to Seattle and it shows "8911 Connecting Bus" option. I just want also to clarify if this connecting bus will be just like a shuttle service and drop us off in a train terminal? Or is this connecting bus will be my ride throughout the entire trip?

Interesting border crossing, and I'm glad you didn't have any problems getting across. Enjoy your time in Vancouver, I remember it being voted the world's most livable city, I wonder if that's still the case. I'm intrigued by that escalator footage where you are both going up with your suitcases, how did you manage the camera work there?
@JordanandEmily Жыл бұрын
It was! And I think its still in the top 3, we lovvveee it in Vancouver and we think the next video will show that 😄 The camera was purely a bit of running ahead on the escalators, high risk high reward 😄
