I would first have left my camera beside and called an ambulance and meanwhile checked on the people in the car, certainly under shock and possibly injured, and then on the engineer who was certainly under a major shock; his reactions are so slow and mechanic, seems he had a pretty hard time to realize what had happened.

2011 - 2014 Ford Edge... and... it doesn't begin to look like it was hit and shoved by a train the distance it was. Now I know why the mid-sized Edge has a curb weight of 4,056 to 4,458 lbs. Very solidly built. Almost as heavy as the full-sized Explorer. I seen very few vehicles come through a very solid impact with a train as shown in this video with no passenger injuries and the vehicle as (relatively) undamaged as this Edge did. Why---I ask WHY do people (who claim to be at the TOP of the animal kingdom) continue to ignore crossing gates, lights, then the front end of the locomotive shuts their lights out. I hope that there was no one in the car when it got smacked. I tell my family all the time: "Haste makes waste" (or life or lives wasted). My daddy was born in 1909 and told me that when he was a little boy his dad had to go to the horrific scene where a train hit a car and all were killed. My granddaddy was a newspaper reporter. Daddy NEVER forgot that scene. Thank you very much for sharing!!!!!
