Now what could be better than sitting on the loo and the train pulls into the station and you’re on the throne in all your majesty and a couple of hundred others sharing your ablutions, now that would merit a round of applause, you would have thought that frosted glass would be put into that particular frame, all that aside looks like a very good deal and certainly would go on my bucket list
@vulgarisopinio3 жыл бұрын
There is a roller blind on a bathroom window which you can use if you have a desperate need to defecate during the stop. On the other hand, I’d rather enjoy the scenery sitting on the loo.
@barvdw3 жыл бұрын
@@vulgarisopinio maybe a one-sided mirror foil could be useful? You can still look outside (it's only darkened a bit), but unless you are really looking very intently and with the lights on, you can't make out all that much looking in. At least, if you have applied it the correct way, of course, it would be a bit inconvenient to look into the mirror in your Adam's or Eve's costume while picking your teeth, while the people outside get a good viewing ;)

Wow great journey, didn't know such a thing as a single tourist train making a 7-day-round-trip existed in Russia, and that luxury! Incredible to have a solo sleeping compartment and bathroom that is that luxurious, for 7 days, all by yourself, for less than 500 euros! One thing I do wonder is; how much does being able to speak (basic) Russian influence the quality of this journey experience? I can imagine the ability to do practical stuff during these short stops is really important, being able to quickly buy food and knowing when the train leaves again. Do you think it's wise for someone who hasn't learned any Russian whatsoever to go and make this journey?
@morzh19782 жыл бұрын
Well, it is even worse than in rural France or Finland: as soon as you drop off at any stop for swift food shopping - you are out of luck if you only wield foreign languages. Even in cities. Remember: learning alien languages in Russia is still a luxury / whimsical hobby for tycoons / weirdos, and the last person to expect such a feat from would be your common minimum-wage slaved retail shop operative.

This trip looks to be excellent value for money, and gives one a real feel for the country, as a non Russian speaker I wonder how one copes with the Cyrillic alphabet. Still if I ever get the opportunity to visit that will not stop me. Excellent video Doc7

If this was a USA train, the air condition probably would not work. The bathroom and toilet most likely unclean in the USA trains. But do not forget they would ask for thousands of dollars for the sleeper trains.

15:45 "small child... feared this car transfer zone the most" - rightfully so: the joint or foot cushed in such slot would be a surgeon´s nightmare. And childish foot is exactly the "fit size" to fall through. Should have covered it with sliding metal sheets in "luxury" cars at least some years ago, BTW.
