Let's be honest DTG is just a scummy company that uses DLC to milk the living hell out of its consumers. The only reason why DTG is getting away with this is primarily the fan base. A study from 2015 stated DTG had made over 4,000 USD from DLC content. It's not DLC content anymore when you just send out random buggy content and it's more than 4,000 USD. If someday in the future another company begins to make TS games that are more consumer friendly. DTG will lose profits. All in all DTG just does not really care about what they are doing. The only way this can be fixed is if we the consumers speak out by voicing our concerns and complaints. DTG should be smart and make the cost for TSW 2 $10-15 if you owned the previous game, and $30 if not. This concept of making the same game annually is just stupid and scummy. My message: DTG FIX YOUR NASTY AND DIRTY ACTS AND PROVE THAT YOU CAN BE A GREAT COMPANY. DTG is starting to remind me of EA.

@@haydonsheard2168 Except I've worked with Unreal Engine and upgraded a game I'm working on to the better Unreal engine. I didn't have to make an entirely new game, they didn't either. They Chose to rip us off with more $20-30 DLC that doesn't add enough in the first base, and they chose to create a whole new game based off the other one with minimal amounts of new content. Is it worth it? No, no not yet.

I play on Xbox One s and since the new version was released i've had way better performance out of it compared to TSW 2020. They may or may not be as skilled as you are and have a lot more people doing lots of different things that they all get paid to do. I only paid for the base game because I already have most of the routes in the preserved collection so only have download for free the routes I already have and purchase the ones I don't have.

Bakerloo line connecting with Great western express is a ridiculous request as the station that the Bakerloo line stops at requires you to go up some escalators, along a corridor, along another corridor, up some stairs and then across the street to get to the mainline station, the HAC and circle toward hammersmith are the tube trains that stop inside the mainline station

The images in the game are from Train Simulator (not Train Sim World 2). It's not even the same graphics engine. Between the 2 games, graphically this has nothing to do with it. Ditto for optimization and development. Yes, they have economic policy, like all businesses. It's a game for a more specialized clientele unlike many games, so reduced market. But DTG makes discounts every week, you can buy DLC from -30 to -60% (just wait). As a result, they do not have the same resources as Electronic Arts, for example. Every day, DTG is live with its community to answer questions, including the Project Manager "Train Sim World". Do you know a lot of game editors who do this? We (and I too) are always asking DTG for more: more locomotives, more lines, more functionality, more optimization, more, more... Train Sim World 2 is not even out (it comes out in August) as you criticize it. So yes, the big fashion on the Internet is to denigrate for everything and nothing, "without ever putting his identity". Personally, when I have a problem with DTG, I contact them directly and I have never had any problems. And once the game came out, if it no longer met my requirements or desires, I will no longer buy the DLCs but I would not denigrate it. What for? Because there are employees behind who do their jobs. But also, I would remember the many hours of play I had fun. PS: I don't work for DTG (easily verifiable on the Internet ).

On which basis you say that is not the same graphics engine? It is an UPDATED version of Unreal engine... So yes, it is a new VERSION of the engine. I don't mind buy a new version; I just don't think that ask me to pay again not only for fixes and updates that were supposed to be included in TSW, but for a new set of DLC that should work in TSW (as the TSW DLC should work in TSW2), and even make me think like DTG hasn't been doing this since 2009, then it is a bit pretentious :)

It is like a phone company wrapping the old phone in a new shell, sell it with a different name at lower price. People that didn't buy the same phone before, see value in it; while the others that forked full price for the phone, when it came out years before, don't see any reason to consider that a good value, since it won't add much to their current experience. Don't mistake what you like with what is objectively good or bad; our personal preferences should not dictate how we evaluate a product.

This video is a bit of a joke to be fair. 1st the title reads "TSW2 IS a Joke" then the author contradicts himself and says "It FEELS like a joke" Not the same thing, I know I'm what did he call it, "nit picking" Then he goes on about Train Sim, not Train Sim World and then follows up with what he thinks is true about TSW2 and not with actual facts about TSW2. His belief is anyone can make this because it's made in Unity, when in fact it's made in the Unreal Engine a totally different game engine, and everyone who has DLC for TSW be rest assured, it will work with TSW2. Also he say's that Dovetail have brought out a lot of buggy and bad dlc's, but then calls them the most adept train sim company, make up your mind, stop sitting on the fence, you are not a CAT! He also says if it's priced at over £5 he won't buy it, you'll be missed as the price (another fact that you could have looked up as it has been released) is £24.99. I for one would be happy to support Dovetail employees so that they can feed their families in these rough times. But you stay with you mislead lorals... There are a lot of things under the hood that have also been changed so that we'll finally be able to get steam engines, maybe even multiplayer later on, although they have confirmed this is somewhat of a lesser priority. You make out it's just livery's you can now change, there is a scenario planner also to mention just one more thing, maybe do a little more homework, or speak to a representative at Dovetail before making what can only be construed as an attempt to CLICK BAIT and get subscribers...

It would be nice if Train Sim World had lines more than 40 miles long. They've obviously made it with an eye on the console market, and given that their MD is a former EA Man, they're taking elements from the sports franchises (a regular engine update packaged as a new game) and from the Sims (DLC packs that cost almost as much as the game), but because there's no competition know they have their customers over a barrel. Especially if you're on XBox, when there's rarely a discount of more than a couple of quid. I reported some bugs to their technical support and their answer was ostensibly "get a more modern XBox"

First of all, those pics are nothing to do with TSW2 and secondly that is your problem that you have so many Class 43's not ours or Dovetail Games problem. And plus, there are more features in TSW2 to make it more realistic such as Livery Maker, Scenario Designer, Better graphics (even though TSW2020 had great graphics too) and just things they have added into the new sim that has made it to be a more realistic and a more enjoyable experience. We also did not have a scenario editor back in the TSW2020.

Yet is that worth 20-60 more dollars than the game you already pay for? If you look at some DLC for TSW in the first place, such as the Canadian National route. Which is honestly a big fat kick in your face, since most of it is trash. I won't go into details there, but apart from that, TSW 2 really should have a way to get the game with a free ticket, like Minecraft when Minecraft came out with the Microsoft version and used a different platform. Making a completely different game overall. This new TSW is truly a joke when you compare it to most game companies who (If they make a second game) usually spend more time on it, more effort on adding in tons of new things, and a more unique feel. It doesn't feel much different and honestly the graphics quality is worse is more than one aspect.

The thing you said about just cutting out the whole tsw thing has one small problem. Did you even consider the console players? I have been wanting to play train simulator since 2012 but have never had a pc to run it on(only had console) and railworks has never been available on console and when i heard tsw was gonna be on console i was nearly jumping with joy. It may have it's flaws but i think the game is excellent and i also think the bakerloo line is a really good idea. Another thing is that dovetail said that tsw2 allows the development and eventual release of steam which has been one of my issues with tsw as it doesn't have anything for the steam era, not even a few on the west somerset railway. So i think the game is going in the right direction

I want a class 50....can someone help me as well ? On the 80s BR freight scenario you're driving a class 40 well you're supose to be working 2 of them together as double headed on a heavy oil train but the problem is you're not only 1 loco is running where the other isn't I suddenly found out the 2nd loco wasn't running as I was driving the train up a steep incline and all I was doing was about 12 to 15 MPH couldn't get any speed wat so ever then like I said I found out only the lead loco was running and the 2Nd wasn't I could see smoke coming out of the lead loco but not the 2nd so I stopped the train and went to the 2nd loco and started it up then went back to the lead loco and tried to drive the train but it go anywhere the throttle wouldn't move so it wouldn't drive I tried and tried but just couldn't drive I started the scenario again and tried getting both locos to work together but they wouldn't work together so I just switched the game off then got pissed off with it... But please can someone tell me how to get both locos to work together so it won't struggle with the load?...thank you

Dovetail has to be the worst company I have ever known about. I looked at reviews from people who worked for them and the top comment said the company had poor management "they really don't know what they are doing most of the time". Which I think really shows in the latest releases. They are lazy and want to get around problems without facing them. Issue is that they are basically the only company that develops up to date and frequent train simulator games which leaves no other competitors to move to. I believe if there was another company selling train simulations, Dovetail would be gone as no one would bother with there lazy choices anymore.

Uhh the only exclusive Pc route is sand patch grade. It was the first route the devs made for train sim world. At the time, console couldn’t handle it. With unreal engine 4, longer routes are now compatible

The Xbox One X can run TSW pretty smoothly, with an occasional frame rate dip like once every few hours. The PS4 is not as powerful tho, and the PS4 Pro stutters very frequently, like once very few minutes. In theory, Sand Patch Grade could work on the Xbox One X (of course with a few more frame rate dips), but the PS4 Pro can not handle it, it barely runs NEC

It was promised and promised and demo'd and promised.. until now I've lost any faith I had left in DTG to the point I'm not longer buying DLC for TS. I haven't played it yet. It's on my list to try, but there are two reasons I haven't touched it yet. Firstly, because when I did buy it I discovered half the promised content WASN'T THERE (yet) and secondly because until they release everything they promised or apologise / acknowledge certain things aren't possible, I'm not buying something that isn't what I was promised. As predicted in my video, they are still yet to release the *finished* product.

I got tsw2 for free on epic games (they had it free 1 week) and I've gotten 1 DLC, because they are far too expensive. I only get them when they are on sale, but a huge sale, like under $15 AUD. Can't they at least have train DLCs free for routes you've already bought?

@@atent5124 The fastest train in europe is still the TGV V150, howvere that isnt a actual operating passenger train. The operating TGVs which transport people in France have a top speed of 320 km/h. The fastest trains in europe are the ones in italy, sadly they are only allowed to go up to 250 km/h on most lines. The train which is allowed to travel the fastest is the ICE 3, they are allowed to go up to 330 km/h on some lines, and the top speed of the train is 350 km/h shown in the speed test (The normal passenger ICE 3 operating in germany now was used in the speed test)

They have murdered their own franchise with greed. The player base of TSW was much reduced over TS Classic, this decision now means they are going to massively reduce their already split and reduced player base. Same goes for consoles, who is going to buy another game for dying consoles, the new ones are due for release this Winter whereby the console player base I guarantee you will be forced to buy it yet again to use it on PS5 or whatever while it dies a death on PC. The jab at the community who kept that dog of a piece of software RailWorks going for a fooking decade and meant DTG was in the position to try this is frankly insulting. Then theres the we're looking at UE5 bit in the next few years, prepare for TSW3 and all this new fluff to die too, never buying another sim off DTG again.

Richard Pearson They’re a small studio they’re just trying to pay their employees and put food on the table. Making a product like this is very expensive because they literally have to not only pay their employees, but also pay licensing fees for Unreal and Autodesk. We won’t have to buy it again on PS5 and Series X because both consoles are (PS5 claims, but Xbox has confirmed) doing full optimization for PS4 and XB1 games. Also, the Bakerloo Line will be a massive fail, half of it is darkness with the odd station, then it emerges at Queens Park where it joins with A. The Watford DC lines (they won't add the Capitalstar to represent this :) ) and B. The bloody busiest and most diverse rolling stock wise mainline in the UK, The WCML. So you'll basically drive next to a dead 4 track plus mainline for half the journey and in darkness for the second half. Why do people want this? It's going to suck.

I've surprised myself how angry this has made me but the German route too, Cologne to Aachen, 1. Its over in less than 30 mins each way 2. The route in real life is like the WCML, untold diversity in rolling stock that will never get onto the sim route, so why bother. It is also going to suck. As for Sandpatch, well its OK but its not new. It is easily the most complete bit of content in terms of the scenarios having somewhat of a build up to full fledged main line runs, the radio chatter etc... I dont care how cheap or otherwise TSW2 is, It will not get anywhere near my hard disk.

@Aero Mexican the main reason DTG made Train Sim World 2 was to add newer and better stuff in the future such as steam locomotives, multiplayer, longer routes, better game play, better graphics, and more! They said they couldn't add all of this kind of stuff to TSW because DTG wants to "advance the engine, evolve SimuGraph (Dovetail's own physics engine that powers Train Sim World."

It’s fun, graphics are nice and sounds are epic however the 1972 tube train is weird to drive. I had it suddenly loose power and come to a dead stop randomly and no way of finding out how it happened. Very frustrating. Have restarted the same level 3 times

I’ve been dealing with real trains and even 1/8 scale trains and I’m realizing that TSW has awful physics and gameplay when coming to American content. Like no multiplayer, no working EDOT, slack is just weird, the air breaks fill with air way to fast, hooking up and unhooking cars is very dull with no airflow valve and can’t play with the hoses, and the brake pistons don’t even move on the cars when the breaks are applied. Plus they are at absurd prices for a okay game. I’d expect everything I mentioned to be in the game for $30. Those are things that just make me shake my head and I’ve got nothing else because I play on console and that’s all I got. Come on DTG.

Okay you’re missing a lot of stuff. The game is not on Unity, it’s in Unreal. Get your facts right before yelling at them. If you look at the beauty of TSW, it is much more difficult to make routes. They have to use three different game engines, Unreal, SimuGraph (their in-house physics and locomotives engine), and Autodesk GameWare ScaleForm for the scenery. With TSW 2, we get our old routes, fully optimized and redone for FREE, a livery designer and downloader, possibly multiplayer is on the roadmap, and for the console players, CSX Heavy Haul, something we’ve been asking for. Xbox players also get the game again for free on the Series X. I’m not a Dovetail ambassador in disguise, but i want to appreciate their hard work instead of dissing it. they probably charge a lot for the expansions because they are a small company (not a large studio like Ubisoft, Activision, Vivendi) and they have to pay their employees somehow. They probably would not charge as much if they had more products to sell, but all they have is Train Simulator and Train Sim World. TSW 2 will much likely be a lot better than TSW 1, just like Destiny 2 was a lot better than Destiny 1. I believe that if we all just chill they can deliver a good product. They can’t give us everything we want, so maybe those boyos who keep whining can chill for a second and realize that game design is a process

Yeah, I got banned from the steam community for disagreeing with their whole business model, which is release the same thing more than once and charge you full price. Instead of making TSW better, abandon it, use the software to "create a new version" (AKA add features people have been asking for for years and call it a new game), make you pay for it again. Minimal effort, maximum gains. Gotta love it. DTG hates me on a deeper level because I don't put up with their shit and I have not allowed them to push me around for a long time. This was beautifully done. I wholeheartedly agree. They are very slapdash with their DLC. Even now they’re releasing routes that are incomplete. Even now they have old routes that still need work (LIRR for example). I will definitely not be buying any more routes/locos until I feel they are releasing DLC that doesn’t need major updates to make them playable.

Personally I'm glad i bought TSW2 and there's enough there to warrant 24.99. Improved fidelity up to 4k, optimised to run at a good frame rate, and bring over your existing TSW collection. Not fussed about livery creator or scenario creator I just want to drive trains. But I am confused why it exists, Train Simulator 2020 seems to have more content but it doesn't quite match the visuals. As a consumer it would be better to have one game with more content
