Train Sim World 2: NEW Journeys Expansion

The "New Journeys Expansion" for TSW2 brings a bit more to the table for the original 3 routes that released with the game - Sand Patch Grade, London Underground & Koln-Aachen.
3 new scenarios with each route, a new loco/emu paint for each route as well as a completely new timetable for Koln Aachen and the injection of the newly painted train sets into their respective routes.
We'll take a look at each and see what there is on offer.

the lack of effort dovetail puts into stuff like this is actually really impressive... stuff like the bell animation being broken takes literally a couple of MINUTES for you to find, and their testing team doesn't catch it? same with headlight control and stuff like that. how hard could it possibly be to create a checklist of things to check before release to market that MUST be signed off on before one of their products is deemed fit for release? and i get it, bugs happen - but this is BASIC.

Now let's be honest! For Dovetail usually making the worst "American Horns", this is by far the best sounding horn they've ever made by far. If they continue making horns that sound as good as this one, they'll get some more respect 😂 Great vid like always 👍🏼

Stealth goes great with YN2 to simulate CSX in the early to mid-90s since there were still some Stealth units on CSX around that time. Even some lasted into the 2000s, but, they were increasingly rare by 2000.

The transition lever was for controlling locomotives that did not have automatic transition like the FT's or F3 locomotives. The F7's on had automatic transition so the lever was phased out for the dynamic brake lever in the 70's.

Despite having all American DLC I don't think the SD40 is worth it, the horn is the best part bout it the paint is cool but if you take the CRR SD40 and put this honr on it and make this scene in livery designer you have this loco

That selector switch on the SD40's had NOTHING to do with how many units were online. That is some BS that Dovetail came up with. The selector was to switch between power and dynamic brake, the numbers 1-4 were to allow you to control the manual transition that was common on many older locomotives. Not sure why DT thinks it was to control how many units or what would happen if there were more than 4 units in a consist.

DTG up to their old tricks again. That SD40 IS the Clinchfield one with a livery THAT WAS AVAILABLE FOR FREE AS A MOD slapped into the route with a few quick, less-than-challenging scenarios. Minimum effort for maximum return because for some reason people keep dumping money into them. Have they SEEN Run 8 lately? It's had all the features DTG has been pondering for years since the very beginning. I just don't get it.

Run 8 has hollow graphic trains with no internal details I don't think so but who really is putting it hard body out there comp.wise for them is the Sim Rail ppl and Derail Valley!

They have features nobody else does, most of which Dovetail Games has disappointed us with the absence of time and time again.

Trust me, U.P. power is a common sight on foreign railroads is very prototypical. When you can't find power for your train in the yard but, you see your company's power on a train that is on a foreign railroad, whether you see it in person or on youtube that tells a little story. I think U.P. offers its power for horsepower hours and reclaims the credits at a later date. I don't know the exact pattern they use but, currently more foreign power (like NS) is heading west on trains either as trailers or DPU's. Every railroad does this but, it seems to me to be more common with U.P..

From what they said on the stream it isn't meant to be prototypical. They did it as more of a "what if they restored an SD40 in CSX Stripe livery" same thing with the 1972 Tube Stock, for the 50th anniversary they did a "what if they had a special train in the livery it had in 1972". The only prototypical additions are to SKA

Omg reasons why I waited on buying Dovetail making errors all over the time CSX SD40 unit call outs, 15:39 at first glance aww Paint scheme is wrong to any time period. The Fuel Tank was blue first Not the Truck's Dovetail Take Notes. No Safety paint walkway line blue or yellow. Main Headlight is arguable on Run Class number time period. SD40 units were called Dash-2 units. Reasons why I don't buy Dovetail secondary DLC crap because they never get it right ever. I figure they look at it and be like should we No! it's fine Good Job team, Next UK Locomotive ahh Do the works on it, 3 months later Beautiful. Would have liked Chessie System paint scheme more than the Basic Grey and Navy-Blue scheme. Seeing the Marker Light's and the High Headlight would say this unit is an Ex-Conrail or UP unit. No See-through steps as the time period would say as is. I bet Dovetail spent 2 weeks on this and 2 months on everything else. Bell is in the wrong area as if it was going to that close to cab it would be near the Fuel tank but given the Paint Scheme time period it would be located behind the Dynamic Brake Intake Not in front of it. All Reason's why I don't bother with Dovetail extra's because they feel Rushed and Not Researched more like a Copy & Paste Quick Money grab is insulting.

I keep wondering why english speaking people still say BR instead of simply class, because BR is short for Baureihe, which is german for class (or series), so you can simply just say DB class 423 instead of DB BR 423

Physics are terrible. SD40 struggles to go up 0.6 grade but 0.8 speed increases. Horn is terrible, too laggy. They’ve been doing this for a while now and still have issues. You get what you pay for I guess.

I played the first journey and refunded it. Horn shit the bed 10 min in. Number board don't turn on. Headlight is duller than a flashlight from the 70s. And other small details of lack of attention. If you're only getting iy for the CSX stuff, don't bother, it's the same old bull DTG always do. Horn is great, but not when it fails in the first journey.
