Just what I was looking for. Watched this video and then within about 30 minutes I had a nice looking Free Roam Scenario that I created on Majestic Falls . Thanks Matt. The neat part, is you can keep adding to it.

Why are you using that toggle option to select the whole train instead of using shift+click to do it? That toggle option seems to only cause problems when you are trying to select single piece of equipment and forget that you have it enabled. Apparently (as shown on this video) it treats all rolling stock clicks as whole train selection and only shows options for that. Of course that is problem when you have only one piece of equipment and want for example change it's number. You can't do that since it is in select-all mode and dosen't show that option.

I have problem. I have downloaded some dlc locos but i cant add them in free roam scenerios. Infact some preinstalled locos are also unavialable in free roam why is that??

is it possible to add your own trains instead of the ones on the list? I wanted to spawn a steam engine until its not on the list. I have different steam engines that I want to add on the route.

Just out of simulator question: why does 1st class cars go after locomotive, often notice it? Isn't there locomotive smoke and noise over first few cars?

Thanks for your tutorials mate! Really helped me out seting up the free roam in TS2016. One question still bothers me, I remembered in RW3 (I believe), you could load the map full of trains, coaches, locomotives etc. - as long as you put the driver's emblem on top of it, otherwise it would just be steal standing still. In this way you could click on another train to switch between the trains and were able to (in mid game, freeroam mode) to decide hey I'm taking the ICE3 now instead of my slow S-bahn. Now, I've got everything figured out with the free roam, even worked out scenarios, the map is loaded (I believe 6 trainsets spread over a map of several 100 kms) with 'drivable' trains, but do you have ANY IDEA how to select another train in free roam mode? +Matt Peddlesden Thanks for your reply! I figured that part out now. I can select the trains, but they start driving on their own as I couldn't select the box next to 'start unloaded' in the timetable view - I believe it says player consist (in other words, I'd like to place a view trains with them being non-AI trains, so just steal standing still waiting for me to drive them as I click on the consist). Any ideas on how I CAN select this box, which would solve all issues?

and also along with the wooden brakes if you're going at a high enough speed they should catch fire so that way players gotta be more careful with their weight of consist and speed and it should come in 2 choices of color black with gold stripes and blue lining or red with gold stripes and lining.

hey matt ive been seeing some free roam maps with other railroad locos and freight in them but I don't understand how I can do the same. for example I want to put a Norfolk southern dash 9 on the cajon pass map but I don't know how to unlock the unit in the game even thought I own the unit please help. Im having a big problem, I can't add engines like the flying Scotsman to this free roam scenario, so for example if I wanted to place a J94 down, which comes seperatly, how do I do that?!

I want to make a free roam scenario where loads of trains go through a platform before disappearing into a portal further down the line but every time i try to set the ai up it either says the first train's path is blocked by the train BEHIND or that the path isnt possible to follow when it is literally just to go down a single line for about 2 miles

***** hi, sorry when setting route for my train. ie the blue line is set to route though a center road but the game sends me into the platform. normally meaning going from 100 to 15 resulting in a derailment. i have told RSC about it in the past but it has never been fixed. hopefully its something they might change in the new game
