Apologies again for late questions Matt, I am trying to get my RD to actually work the train brakes on the class 66 powerhaul so here goes: 1). Is there an asset viewer utility (or something akin to it), where I can find the locomotive string ID which I can then use with the GetLocoName() function? 2). As the train brake is scripted differently (as per your excellent 'how to drive the DRS 66') video, should I be setting the TRAIN_BRAKE_ID values as singles, floats or something entirely different? Cheers again and many many thanks for your tireless efforts in showing people many of the 'under the bonnet' workings of TS and RailDriver. MadDropBear

Sorry Matt, just caught up with this video and have a couple of questions: 1). Could you provide a link to your blog spot in your KZbin video description please? 2). Using your Notch scripting for the class 150 as an example, is it possible to do something similar with the Tap changer on Class 86 / 87? I understand the principle on you changing floats to integers in order to set 'notches', but I am a little out of my depth if trying to do this with the 'power off', 'run-down', 'Tap-up' and 'Run-up' notch settings. I am guessing that the 'power off' and 'run-down' notches would have negative values, perhaps best utilized by using the RD Throttle control 'dynamic brake' range, however in practice, and without trying to script it, the range of throttle movement is similar in response to the class 150 without script modification. Well at least that is my experience thus far... :-S Cheers in advance

***** Many thanks Matt, I think I will run with the range button idea; the tacticle feedback is definitely a positive there. Now I just have to figure out the 'loconame' for scripting. I hope it's just "86" or "87" and not including a decimal.

Hi Matt, I am currently trying to fix the brake lever problem. My question is, how can I find out how many positions there are for the brakes in a specific loco. (in the 150 it was 0 to 4) Is it possible to find this out by operating the brakes with a keyboard and counting the notches? (5bar, 4.7bar, 4.5bar etc.) regards, Luca

Hello from Berlin. I want you contacts for a specific question that does not appear in your video, I want to insert the Reverser an additional position between neutral and forward, this is in German VR-vehicles for the systems PZB and LZB up required. Can you help me? The position is 0.5, but this has not the reverser.

hi matt, can you please upload a copy of your WORKING script 210 file, since i did precicely what you did, but my Brake lever (now throttle) is acting weird.. when at zero, no problem.. when 1 milimeter up full throttle, after 2mm 5% throttle and up as it should, untill 95% throttle, then the last 2mm ZERO throttle.. the max and min settings are switched around some how, and what i try in the script, it won't fix it..

Hi Matt, Thanks for the brilliant video. I've followed all the steps about using the train brake lever for the throttle, and am working on adding the steps to the Class 150/2, however, when I click 'build' in Macroworks Script Editor I get the error "Name 'GetLocoName' is not declared." I've copied everything in the scripted as displayed though. Appreciate any help on solving this. Many thanks, Chris.

Hi Matt I have been following this video for days now and I just do not know how you have done this I see that you have copied and pasted the first part into the file however you don't show us where you have copied it from is there any way you could tell me how the computer reads that it is the 150 you are using please ? Thanks Jack

Hi, Matt. You could include here a link to your Script_210_53.mw3 file, with the 150 corrections...

Matt, once again my apologies for a late post on this video but I'm in somewhat of a dilema: I've been wanting to expand the Macroworks Raildriver code to accommodate newer locomotives and their scripted actions. For instance I know that you can code the "Virtual brake" system using existing routines provided by PI Engineering, which would be useful with the "Powerhaul class 66" (as an example). However, I have been trying (in vain), to generate a message box (via LUA) that will give me the exact name of each locomotive. You have mentioned in your blog that it is possible to do just that, but I cannot find any documentation anywhere on the relative object:function name / string required to do this; there is nothing in the Dovetail advanced documentation, and I've attempted many different combinations such as: Loconame = SysCall("PlayerEngine:GetLocoName"); then passing that on to SysCall("ScenarioManager:ShowInfoMessageInt", "Title of the box", LocoName, 0, MSG_VCENTRE + MSG_CENTRE, MSG_REG, TRUE); but am not getting anywhere with all attempts. I therefore come on bended knee asking if you could provide me with anything that might help, even if it's just the correct object function calls / syntax required in the LUA script. As you are the only person who has addressed Raildriver / Macroworks code in any depth, my aim is to create a Raildriver Macro with "Select Case" logic in order to bring the afore mentioned locomotive(s) functionality to fruition. Once done I will be only too happy to share this with the TS community in order to enrich Raildriver owner's experience. I regret that I have not been able to watch your Twitch streams of late; RL has been kicking my whole family below the belt for quite some time now, and I really want to get back into TS as an escape from the current harsh realities of RL, but as I said, many of the locomotives / Multiple units in my stable simply do not work on the Raildriver. Thanks in advance, MadDropBear

very interesting! but I can't get mine to work : no lever works, only lights switch and blue buttons...... calibration is ok so the problem is not hardware related. thanks if you have an idea! regards

***** thanks for your answer! I've finally managed to make it work! for those who have the same problem, here's what I did: don't put raildriver.dll in the folder pointed in the script, but do the opposite : look for the dll and copy/paste its location in the script! now levers work (even the wipers switch!), but there's still a "little" problem : the throttle/dyn brake huge deadzone......(more of a hysteresis, in fact!)....
