Train Simulator 2015 - UK Freight 3: Ravenstruther to Mossend (Class 66)

In this next video, we take a Class 66 from Ravenstruther to Mossend on the West Coast Main Line North add on.
Apologies for the lag in the Law Junction area, unfortunately there wasn't much I could do about it.
Also, apologies for not noticing that the brake mode was set to 'pass' and not 'goods'. It seems that when I reloaded the scenario after changing it, it defaulted back and I didn't notice XD

Great video as usual! I'm more of a freight hauling kind of guy, so this is right up my proverbial alley. Class 66 sure looks like a beast, AP enhanced and all. Might have to give this one a go myself. AP is just the best. Adds so much realism, and fun, to driving a loco. Love their stuff!

I've played a lot of routes on TS by now but the first add on I ever did was WCML North and its never stopped being my favourite. There's something about it. In fact Keith's tracks in general are my favs with WLOS second and Shap somewhere near third.

+BollocksUtwat I tend to agree with you that Keith's routes are some of the best. I love the atmosphere in them, and it's so obvious the amount of time and effort he puts into route building. I look forward to seeing what he brings to the simulator in the future! :)

Nice to see you driving a shed :-D Great video as always too. I think this is my favorite route in the sim, just so much variety of runs that can be done. From freight to short passenger runs. Maybe as a future route learner you could do the Lowland Sleeper service from Carlisle up to Glasgow Central splitting at Carstairs? If I remember rightly there is an AP scenario for this.

+William Mankelow Thanks! I enjoyed driving a 66 for a change :) This is one of my favourite routes in TS for sure, just with all the variety there is to do. Though it is unfortunately starting to look a bit dated now. I will certainly consider doing the lowland sleep scenario :)

Yet another really good video form you Peter. Looking forward to see more when you get your new PC. I like the London to Brighton route as i used to live in Brighton in the early 80,s before moving back home to Yorkshire and i am still a big Brighton and Hove FC fan nice to see them at the top of the table after last seasons very poor performance.

+Kirkinstein Awesome. I've not made enough freight videos I guess, though I have now made this and two American freight videos in the last couple of months. The issue with making them is always the problem of not knowing what to say when there's not much to do lol XD I'm hoping to make the next route guide video very soon, but we'll see how it goes. Superb video PTG! I picked up the AP Class 66 pack in their recent sale, great purchase, adds a lot of character to the loco. As for the next video, maybe something on the GWML? Perhaps a loco hauled service from Oxford or Didcot to Paddington with a NSE Class 47 or Class 50? Lots of potential for AI on an older route that maybe wont be as taxing on your current PC. I dunno, just my tuppenceworth :)

Great video PTG. Is it possible for you to make a 'realistic A.I from the timetable' tutorial for scenario creation?. I have started writing scenarios with realistic A.I but was wondering if there's a quicker way. Can't wait for more videos and your first stream :)

For your next vid could you do a VTEC class 801, or GWR. I think it would be interesting for a route learning vid. You can get VTEC skins for the 801 , and HST off Bluerail's site, and I think the 91 off Bluecode.

That's why lol :p I realised after uploading it that when I saved/reloaded the scenario it changed the brake setting back after I'd changed it. Then I didn't notice it was in 'pass' mode lol XD Thank you for the comment! I'm currently working on writing the script for a 'route guide' on the Settle to Carlisle route which I'm hoping to record soon :)

you have alot of knowledge on all your routes you drive from speed changes to knowing where to stop. Do you run the scenarios over and over before you film it online?

PTG if I'm not a genius on the class 66 but if I'm right on the top left hand side of the dashboard there is two "icons" one illuminated white with the word "pass" and the other with "goods" on if I'm right should it of been illuminating "goods" instead of "pass" as you were hauling goods?

+thatrandomboy123 HD Plus for your next video could you do a ECML class 365 or class 321 from either Kings cross or From Peterborough as you have done the ECML before but for my reselection you have only done "fast" and "semi-fast" services using the Class 43 Hst and the Class 91

+Andrew Bustard This is a scenario from the Armstrong Powerhouse 'AP13: WCML North Scenario Pack (Freight)'. It's only £4.99 BUT you will want to check it's requirements, as it uses a lot of paid add-ons to add realistic AI traffic.

+Andrew Bustard This scenario came from an AP scenario pack, but I have uploaded a number of scenarios to Workshop in the past. Some are really old from when I first started out, and some newer ones are up there which I created for videos on this channel. Look up PTGRail on Steam Workshop. The AI needs changing in some of the older ones as I didn't have the variety of DLC then that I do now. :)

hello drivers. I have been following your channel recently. the videos are very good but I find something not so good. if you stop by train, you come with a high brake adjustment to a standstill. I would find it more realistic, if you on the last few meters that slow dissolves again to reduce the jerk. especially in steam engines that is important so that not too much shuttling the water in the boiler. which can in real damage to the boiler and cause it would be more comfortable for the passengers. I think it would be nice if you could consider the future.

+sparky list That is something I'm aware of and usually do consider, though I don't always get it right.. especially if I misjudge the braking distance slightly. In some videos you will see me reduce the braking when stopping but not in others. It all depends on the train too; for example I know that Class 377s which run in the area I live are often stopped in step 2 braking. I will try and consider it more in the future :)

To PTG RAIL. How about doing a journey from LIVERPOOL LIME ST TO BLACKPOOL NORTH OR TO LONDON EUSTON If you want a journey that's a bit challenging. Why not try doing these 😮. I simply don't understand as to why NO-ONE is interested or capable of doing the journey from LIVERPOOL LIME ST TO BLACKPOOL NORTH. I have seen many videos of train sims on KZbin. But, it is one journey I would really like to see. If I had TSW ( TWS). & ARMSTRONG POWERHOUSE. SORRY!!! Can't remember which way it is. 😕. Anyway if I did have it I would most definitely try to get this journey & senirio's. installed. Doesn't anyone want this journey & if so why not!!! 😕😟
