Overhead is cool - we get to hear the power of those engines working and then see the tops of the cars (which we don't see too often!). That was a big old manifest train - it needed a mid-DPU to get it all moving :) Good trains at a good location. All of them working hard either up or down the grade :) The last solo engine was a fairly rare one - an SD60.

Picking up all the aluminum cans would be a good project for a Boy Scout troop or another civic organization. There's probably several hundreds of $$$ in recyclable aluminum for the picking. They would however, have to coordinate a clean-up with the railroad since in some cases, they would be on railroad ROW.

With the city of Cincinnati still owning this track it's possible people here can say their steel Boulevard is smoother than some of the streets in the Queen City. That first train throwing everything at it to get up the hill first two gons equipped with built in cradles to hold steel coils. Compare that to other conventional gons where the temporary wood got pulverized by that shifting weight. I guess that bridge is like an extension of Annie's Tavern or is the seasonal patio. Most urban areas those aluminum cans would have vanished by 7:00 a.m. Always great to see the fast-paced action. Stay bundled up in the super frigid weather and make sure Dupp doesn't get Frozen in the pond

By the time you make a u-turn and find another crossing, the train will have gone by. Same as people who don’t want to wait 10 or 20 minutes at a restaurant to be seated. By the time you find another one you could have already been seated. I don’t understand why everyone is always in such a hurry.

People do that all the time here, it's a depends. Since the Rochester & Southern which interchanges here in town with NS, they like to block crossings for an hour or more. There have been times that the RSR and even the NS have left cars across both crossings disconnected from the power for hours. So people often turn around for any train because they can't tell the difference. The RSR stopped doing that pretty much after I recorded them doing it and how much traffic is backed up.
