As a 66 year old, “masters” cyclist I am interesting in understanding how my training should differ from younger riders who compete. I have no interest in competing and simply want to continue to get stronger. Been using TR now for almost one year and my FTP has gone from 160-197 (I am 5’6 and only 125 pounds). Using Plan Builder but would love to see a Masters Plan builder that takes into account our age and goals. If not interested in racing but still want to grow as a cyclist, how should my training plan differ from other young guns who want to race? Love the product and I continue to work 4-5 days per week, for 6-9 hours per week. Thanks.

Older riders get short shrift. Good discusion of RPE . A lot of folks are trainers not racers and still use training to optimize

Wow. 0:47 Going from off the couch to needing 4x8min SS workouts *every* *day* to maintain fitness is quite a feat.

They did not address the hormone crash that occurs for both sexes starting in the 40s. Without hormones you have a much harder time building muscle. Aging might be a bigger issue at the professional level. I don't know of many 40+ year old professional athletes. However for us mere mortals, aging may be less of an issue since we are starting at such a lower baseline.

TDF riders actually get fitter as the tour goes on, but eventually they get fatigued.
