That’s astonishing, it looks like the guy that hops the roundabout tried to take the other guy out. Sketchy dude!

Jonathan's been killin matches in the front most of the race and still breakaway solo a few laps to finish...You dawg!

Since it didn't play into affecting the outcome, we let the footage speak for itself, but it's fair to say hopping a round about that forces you to collide with the race line isn't a great option. Luckily both riders were okay!

@@TrainerRoad it's tough when when your cameras pick up friends, who you race with frequently, doing stupid things in races.

No need for tactics. Just do what I do, work until about 10-15 mins to go then just do 500+ watts all the way to the line.

Man, I am flabbergasted by Jonathan's strength on the bike. I'm about the same weight as him (although 2 inches taller) and that FTP he has seems totally unattainable to me. Tried to hang with a group going 25 mph the other night, and I felt like I needed another 30 watts in FTP just to hold onto the tail of the thing. Really impressed with Jonathan's numbers. Something to aspire to.

Jonathan's a beast! But always remember that it's all about consistency. You don't get those kinds of numbers overnight :)

Sometimes being up front is easier. Theres often a better draft, and of course less acceleration.

Solid video! Looks like a really fun course, and if it seemed like you were out solo a while, I"m sure it was an eternity while you were doing it.

It's just bonestructure and bodytype. You gotta work with what you get i guess. I'm 181cm, which is 6" I believe and I'm usually hovering between 65 and 67 kg (143 -147lbs according to google). I know guys who I can drop on climbs, but I can only just about hang in their wheel if they're powering on a flat road. Which is not ideal since i live in a country as flat as a pancake

I don’t even have to watch this, how stupid, just be stronger than everyone else. Done.

Justin Evans Jonathan wasn’t the highest watt/kg in the race. He’s around 4.5 in this race and the highest is 5.1. He went at the right time, that’s combined with his fitness is why he won
@ssanderson12
@ssanderson12 5 жыл бұрын
Being stronger than everyone else doesn't necessarily win races. I can sit behind someone with an FTP 75 watts higher than mine, then out sprint them at the end of a long race and win. The other rider was a stronger rider, but I was smarter and a better sprinter.
