This is the best how to training video I've seen for the 40 yard dash. I've been using some of these tips with my son's tackle football team. Thanks!

Is a 40 yard dash good for general fitness? My sprints don't last very long, can I use 40 yard dash to build up endurance?
@Shukulo7 жыл бұрын
Ok but why wouldn't 40 yard dash work for building endurance. Sprints are a measure of speed and they are still a workout. Would you call a 1rm max lift for example not a workout?
@dominicfreed6857 жыл бұрын
if you already had an answer in your mind why ask the question
@Donthe1ne6 жыл бұрын
Those are called wind sprints what you have in mind you basically give it 100% and rep it
@christylively98066 жыл бұрын
Speed and endurance are two very different things and this drill isn't for endurance its for raw speed if you want endurance run miles or 400s

Do you put your power foot or your other foot In front
@Cosoapfkgi5 жыл бұрын
GZ Kaidono I am pretty sure it’s your power foot, you have your opposite hand back and when the timer starts then you pull it forward along with your opposite foot for a better start
@Cosoapfkgi5 жыл бұрын
You can experiment and see which foot you start with is faster

How do i decide what leg goes forward and which one goes back?
@RM-uy3ec3 жыл бұрын
Generally your dominant hand determines it and itll generally be the opposite leg
@123Hoops2 жыл бұрын
@@RM-uy3ec so if I am right handed I put my left leg forward? My basketball coach taught me to put my left foot first bc I am right hand
@RM-uy3ec2 жыл бұрын
@@123Hoops if you’re finishing w/ your right hand your left leg acts as a shield against the defender while also using the rim as the same function. Opposite applies if you go from the left side and use your left hand
