This is a question I have gotten for a long time and just didn't get around to addressing it.
I talk about bitless bridles, what to look for, how to start on the ground, and how to be safe under saddle.
Keep in mind, training is what ultimately keeps you safe. The more training you do, the safer you will be, but nothing can guarantee safety.

I will be riding my 19 yr. old Haflinger bitless as he gives every indication that he was abused with bits because had a tendency to run off . I started him ground driving with a bitless bridle to help him understand what I am asking of him. For the 1st. couple of times he has been like a drunken sailor over responding to the pressure to turn etc. He is very smart , so should pick up on what it's all about pretty quickly. Thank you for your video.

Ms. Schexnayder! I have just yesterday found your videos titled "Difference between a pace, stepping pace, and smooth gait", "Best thing you can do to get your horse to gait", "My favorite bit for gaited horses" and "My favorite shanked bit for gaited horse" (the spit at 4:15 in that video made me laugh out loud and, without wanting to sound weird, endeared your honest, down to earth style even more to me). I find your channel to be very interesting, informational/educational and absolutely void of the nowadays all too common marketing oriented sensationalism, hype and overstimulatedness. Watching your videos provides the viewers with the rare experience of being overwhelmed with calm talent and practical knowledge instead of mere volume. It is also good to see that you are still around after so many years and are uploading consistently to KZbin. Yours might very well be a niche channel, and that might show in subscriber and views numbers, but it is a serious information/knowledge-gap filler, so please do not stop uploading, because the value of what you are doing goes beyond numbers. I find your content/knowledge in the same league with Warwick Schiller and Clinton Anderson without the latters tv show-style overstimulatedness (I have no idea what your opinion is of the two gents, but I meant the comparison to be a compliment). There are very very few gaited horses available in my surroindings, but they are not unheard of, and I have a soft spot for them, though zero experience so far. The moment getting one will become a realistic prospect, I will invest in your dvd-pack (probably the bits too) immediately! In the meantime: I am subscribed, and given the chance, will recommend your channel and website to others too without hesitation! I am glad to have found your channel, please don't stop uploading! All the best with your endeavours, and stay safe! Greetings from Hungary!

I think they are fine as long as the noseband isn't too tight. I haven't used it, but it seems fine.
