Best vlog yet cam 😉 and yes he does end up just lying on the floor on his phone trying to do core at home!! Also with coaching he loves helping people. Like the riders he currently coaches can pretty much call or msg whenever and he always picks up or replies straight away....... frustrating sometimes but mega for the guys being coached 😂😂 awesome vlog boys 👍👍👍

Torque work on the bike does not build muscle. That's a common misconception. If you want to build muscle you need to go to the gym and lift heavy.
@Cameron_Jeffers
@Cameron_Jeffers 6 жыл бұрын
+eteokles3 what level do you race at mate?
@eteokles3
@eteokles3 6 жыл бұрын
Elite A in Germany. Why does that matter?
@Cameron_Jeffers
@Cameron_Jeffers 6 жыл бұрын
+eteokles3 just interested mate. Pretty much all domestic and international pros do torque work on the bike. So interested as to why you think it doesn’t work? Genuinely question by the way mate!
@eteokles3
@eteokles3 6 жыл бұрын
True and it's interestingly something German cyclists have been doing for ages. We even have a name for these kind of workouts and I'm a strong believer in those. I haven't said that they "don't work", it's just that Steve said he does them "to build muscle" and that's not true. They help recruiting all the muscle you have, so they build strength but technically they don't cause hypertrophy.
@atiroocky
@atiroocky 5 жыл бұрын
@@eteokles3 , indeed I've ridden in the book "Training and Racing With a Power Meter" by Andrew Coggan, that all studies he analysed have shown that torque work will not build more muscle than "power" work. According to him, the amount of fibre recruitement does not depend on the torque, but directly on the amount of power you put. So if you want building muscle, train at the maximum power you can (maybe at 100RPM for some people)

Hi Cam! What do you think would be the best way to train for a 96km long race? Its going to be my first race (I'm 19, so entering the racing-area pretty late, but oh well... It's mostly for fun. I might do some before if there is any), and I really want to do sub three hours. For now I've just been training aimlessly with lots of volume, with winter and inside riding I'm going more intensity.

Cam, how many zones do you have? I don't have a reference for what zone 3 is otherwise. For example, I have 5 zones, so zone 3 is considered garbage training. Too fast to build aerobic capacity, too slow to build top end.
@eoghan4378
@eoghan4378 6 жыл бұрын
Zone 3 is not considered too fast to build aerobic capacity. 5 zones is generally the same as 6 but for the fact that if you have 5 zones zone 5 will be vo2 and up rather than vo2 and then anaerobic.
