This is a very special Shadow microlight. It is modified specifically for paraplegic and tetraplegic pilots. This aircraft belongs to the Aviation for Paraplegics and Tetraplegics Charitable Trust and is based at Old Sarum (see the APT's website disabledflying.org.uk ). G-MYLV is modified for those whose disability affects their hands, as well as their legs. The main modifications to G-MYLV consist of: - combined throttle/rudder lever on the pilot's left side (Forward/Back for throttle; Left/Right for rudder) - pneumatically-powered brakes activated by a lever behind the pilot's head - elevator trim operated by suck/blow tube (attached to microphone boom) - large chin-operated PTT switch for VHF radio The Shadow Flight Centre cares for the aircraft and does the flight training. The APT Charitable Trust was founded in 1994 by James Edmonds. The Trust's objective is to provide facilities to teach seriously physically disabled people to fly, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the freedom of the sky.

That explains it, I was confused by the two controls!

Peter Osborn the left stick is normal a throttle, moving fore and after, but on this aircraft, it also controls the rudder, left and right. The right stick is conventional.

R1FREESTYLE PFLs looked good. The only time you can have fun low level. The shadow looks good to fly.
