Hi! I had a similar issue and I started working on two aspects. 1. Started practising the clock face swing, i.e. 9 to 3 and 10 to 2 etc. and 2. Using different parts of the grip, i.e. bottom, middle and top with these variable swing lengths. Add to that different clubs and suddenly I had a great range of shots from various distances! Hope this helps!😊

Totally agree … 40-50 yards is an awkward distance (that we rarely practice) If you shorten the swing enough, you can’t get any spin on the ball, thus it rolls out. So instead of feel, you have to rely on hitting a particular landing spot and hope for the correct rollout (not very accurate) If the pin is up, it’s hard to keep the ball there without it rolling to the back of the green. So, any “technique” advice for this little shot is great 🤔 You do a great job keeping your head still while putting. 👍🏻 This is something I was explaining to this woman I played with on the course this morning. Jack Nicklaus said “keeping your head still” was his #1 swing thought (in his book, “Golf My Way”)

I really admire your dedication to continuous practice. I have a bad back and can’t spend more than about 10-15 minutes chipping or putting so this part of my game is nothing like it should be. Very nice. As I'm getting close to being an old man with possible myocarditis from the... ahem, I find that recovery from rounds and practice is key. I returned to steel iron shafts the past few years with the help of jumbo grips but now I'm considering going back to graphite for good.

How are you liking the center shaft style? I have an old Odyssey Back Stryke Marxman and I'm a huge fan of the center shaft.

I like it but mostly because of the face more than the center shaft I think. Because I had a center shaft before but I find this putter easier to align and that could be due to the visual aids on this specific putter!
