Training Drill - Kicking Basics & The Drop Punt

Concord Giants Coaching Co-ordinator Tony Malakellis runs through the basics of kicking a footy. Followed by some simple training drills on how to improve your drop punt.

This video is awesome!.I'm 44yrs old,still playing country footy.I'm not the greatest player,really struggle to get a kick in reserve grade.I followed these drills to a tee,and I tell you what I've turned some heads on the training track,including the leagues leading goal kicker(seniors),he commented saying my kicking had improved out of sight!,and then wanted to know where I learnt to kick,The awesome thing about this drill is you can practice it anywhere,the place I found is down the park whilst my kids are playing on the play equipment.A big thumbs up dude,you've nailed it👍

Excellent,,,,very helpful vid... ! I'm 62 years of age and grew up with the drop kick. Had heaps of trouble changing to the drop punt back when coaches were encouraging us to adopt. I was allowed to continue the droppy, fave position centre half forward or back but I now want perfect the drop punt just for fun out in the park with my 15 year old son...who incidently can dob a 45 m drop kick..ha ...cheers from NZ...

i usually try different ways to guide tha ball but usually i'm a really good kick but wanna replicate it to my opposite foot

Just tip from me when you get better you can get a empty bin and practise kicking it in from different distances

@Toby Maloney yep I forgot I even commented but yea I can kick now just the way I held the footy and dropped onto my foot was the wrong way now I'm kicking easily
