@@jazzyjay4595 you have a handful of guys who can run sub 2:05(depending on the course) ,but for the most part,marathon winners are not consistently running sub 2:05 (take into account all the marathons, not just the majors)
@jazzyjay4595
@jazzyjay4595 3 жыл бұрын
@@nickatnite16 yes but we are talking about the tip of the iceberg, not everything under the water. The only marathon outside the majors that has a winning time sub 205 is probably Dubai (which is trying to be added as a major) and maybe Amsterdam from time to time. But the majority of the majors, excluding Boston and New York, tend to be won in sub 205 rather than above that. The last 5 years, again excluding Boston and New York, the rest of the majors have been won by the majority at sub 205

Serious question: does Reed have his own marathon coach? as he is somewhat the only marathoner with Brogan. Or is he also being coached by momma hunter?

Momma Hunter!
@jazzyjay4595
@jazzyjay4595 3 жыл бұрын
@@jonathannemeth2784 my only concern with that is that she’s only ever coached mid distance and distance track athletes (mostly high schoolers) so her pedigree in the marathon just isn’t there. Tinman should look to hire an assistant coach who has a specialty in the marathon who can provide insight and maybe even someone who’s got a good marathon career behind them. Cory leslie’s expertise also lies in track. Some names that come to mind are Nick Arciniaga, Aaron Braun, Matt Llano, Brad Hudson, etc. I know sponsors can be somewhat of a conflict but I think Matt could be the only one with that issue

Hey guys, new to the channel and somewhat new to running. I’ve done a good bit of reading and research but do you guys have any go to’s or recommendations for learning good running form? I’ve heard some controversial messages but does the team have a resource you guys recommend or look to? Thanks for the content! It’s very thorough and informative

Big, big fan... However I am interested to know why tempo pace was applied instead of 'effort;' as the lads said, reps 1 + 3 were net downhill and 2 + 4 were net uphill, yet they ran around the same pace for all efforts... Surely not smart training given the intensity would have had to change for uphill vs downhill reps - why wasn't the adjustment of the pace applied accordingly? It would be harder than a tempo effort if you're running the same pace/faster uphill ?
@tomkelly5090
@tomkelly5090 3 жыл бұрын
Agreed! it doesn't make sense that you would run uphill into the wind and try to achieve the same tempo pace. A 5:00 mile uphill into the wind would be threshold pace. Interesting.
