I've witnessed someone sawing a branch being all careful cutting to the side of the body. But he didn't pay attention to what he was cutting. It was a fallen tree. A branch had been bent back under the one he was cutting. Halfway through the branch the springy one freed and whipped him in the chest. Took the wi d out him. Could've been well worse.

@@outsidertank they are ok no the one i was on about is black plastic with 2 wings and a stainless steel filter works ok but you have to keep filling it 4-5 times just to get 1 cup so bit of a faff just for a coffee

If you have all this gear it's not a survival situation. This is just camping. You could even call it 'bushcraft'. And don't put the lanyard on your wrist that way. There are better ways but this way the sharp edge is just gonna hit your arm.
