"It’s not just about the tech, it’s about building a community of knowledge." Says Mark Brueton Chief Engineering Surveyor at BAM Nuttall.
Peter Haddock caught up with Mark recently at the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon School in Whitchurch.
He was joined by a team of engineers and surveyors from across the BAM UK & Ireland business who had come to undertake practical learning about the latest technologies and solutions now available.
This included activities like:
Getting hands-on with a full range of surveying equipment.
Seeing live demonstrations of 3D machine control and Xwatch Safety Solutions part of Hexagon 3D collision avoidance.
Learning about AGTEK Development Company, Inc. earthwork software works.
And getting to experience how VR is changing the industry.
Talking about the two day event, Mark said: "This is all about enhancing skills, safety, and efficiency, helping our engineers tackle everything from the big infrastructure and complex construction projects we work on.
"From advanced surveying tools to 3D digital models, we’re focused on making sure our teams are equipped to succeed."
Mark added: "By coming together, sharing experiences and learning more about the equipment we already have and are investing in, we can use this experience to deliver the best outcomes for our clients."
This video is part of a series of interviews taken at the event, which we will be sharing on my channels and our contentforindustry.com website.
