There are several components to house training a parrot. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Parrot Ploy Plan (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible resource that I have ever heard of.Check out the great info .

Absolutely love it, Jessi. I'd say my only complaint would be how he's biting the stick rather then just touching it because it could accidentally get you aggression on cue but it doesn't look like it's a problem for you but it is something for viewers that want to try touch training to be aware of. Be very aware of how your bird is touching the stick, you totally can get over-stimulation and aggression and several emotions on cue so be very aware of how your bird is feeling when they touch the stick and try your best to not let them bite the stick. It helps to hold it out of the bird's reach and then bring it in just within their reach. I'm pretty sure Birdtricks KZbin Channel had a bird touching it with their tongue, too funny! Loved meeting Zapper, I haven't seen him yet! He's such a great training student, I'm a little jealous!

I have an Alexandrine Parakeet, he is very smart and can speak Hindi (Official Indian Language) and if I put him on my finger than , he will say, "I have done, I want seeds" (in Hindi) and if you want to make him to sit on your shoulder, than you have to give him a thin slice of guava. I am not sure if it is every Alexandrines' favorite, But I do know that much that Pierre (my parakeet) loves Chili & guava seeds, thin slices of apple and guava and sometimes mango and banana.

I have been thinking about what bird would be suitable for me, I have a lot of space and a lot of free time, so I have been thinking about getting a Hahn’s or Illiger’s macaw.
