So, its very dangerus to use gedan barai to block mae geri. Why gedan barai exist?

It doesn't mean that gedan barai is dangerous. It just shows that mae geri is first given as a feint to make the opponent

Its a deint to make him drop his gaurd and then actual mawashi geri is possible to midsection. Similarly yoko geri could be used.
