The animation glitch with the red monk is because the Martial Village adds a new race called “blessed” greenlanders, hivers, etc… if you have any animation mods like combat, they just do damage without moving so you have to patch it with another mod or do it yourself

That little What If quick save at the end reminds me of a few animes and mangas where a character will consider trying to attack someone who is way too strong and just get an overwhelming fear of their own death/dismemberment.

Beast had a split second thought “This Bodhisattva character seems strong, I wonder what would happen if I were to attack him,” the Bodhisattva sensed his 1% of killing intent, and responded with spiritual pressure to make Beast feel like he was already dead. Truly an anime moment.

oh my god that monk in red actually had me pogging. at first i was like "damn these designs go fucking hard" then i saw their goal of liberating slaves and their martial arts level i was just like holyyy fuckkk this is gonna be so cool. such a badass group

Yep and also prooved another point.... If you throw enough bodies armed with crossbows at an enemy, you will eventually win, regardless of how skilled your opponent is. Those monks LOST... and became slaves. Yeah, they did a crap ton of damage, and totally wrecked a ton of soldiers probably for life.... but.... regular guards can easily be replaced... an elder monk.. not so much. and this is why Commoners armed with Crossbows ended up being the main defensive unit for fortified positions in Medival times... They are simple to use, require next to no training, and are utterly devestating. The rise of Crossbows/firearms spelled the end of highly trained Martial Knights. Because if Farmer John from the field can drop your Knight who took about 2 decades to train, that's not a war you are going to win long term.

​@@Legohaidenthe reason they lost was because they lacked tactics if they were smarter they would use shields (or in the case of kenish heavy armor) to close the distance drop shield/armor wombo combo them, or even better focus the cross bows or better run in a zigzag when approaching or do all at the same time Also the fact you cant dodge arrows is dumb, you can solo leviathan's dodge hundreds of swings at the same time fight block attacks that come from behind you but you cant predict when someone will pull a trigger

@@Legohaidenyeah in one of my play-throughs with this mod I decided I was too lazy to make my own elder robes and martial gear so I trained like 50 crossbow men with specialist eagles crosses and just mowed down the entire martial village from a safe distance. That boddhistava guy and his buddies eventually came out and crippled/exploded half of them but I ended up getting easily the best drip in the game.

The emergent story in Kenshi is so good. Beast taking a rest after a long journey towards a goal he isn't certain exists, when the exact people he's seeking show up in the middle of the night to display their skills and achieve the same goal he was thinking about but wasn't strong enough to achieve? It's so perfectly timed.

I can see Fist Of The North Star in this story line. Just imagine, somehow the Beast is Kenshiro in other universe, now that he found the place he can developed his martial arts. He shall train to be the most powerful Warrior on the planet and maybe challenge the top warlord in Kenshi (Raoh alike character). "A Cry from the Heart To Be The Most Powerful" is the first chapter, now he will train Hokuto Shinken with the monks. Cant wait for the next chapter and Simo to say "omae wa mou shindeiru" after the last strike of all his enemies.

There are patches for the animation issues with the monks and many other issues with the Martial Village characters. Ya gotta get the patch so they work with the More Combat Animations mod as an example. I recommend ya read some of the mod descriptions to see if any other patches are needed since making your own is not that hard or someone already made one or the modder themselves made one for requested mods.
