I like the message he seems to be delivering. "Stop trying to surpass me. Work on surpassing yourself!" Thats the real secret. Dont train to get stronger to surpass a rival or whatever, instead, ask yourself, "Am I better today than i was yesterday?" So long as the answer is yes, you should be proud. Keep focusing on doing better than you did yesterday, and eventually you will reach your goal. By aiming for the top of the mountain you just damage your sense of pride in your accomplishments when the gap never seems to close. You lose heart. To put it in simpler terms, you can do 10 pushups. Your goal is 100. Isnt it better to go "Yes! I did 12 today! Lets go for 14 tomorrow!" Or whine how you STILL arent hitting 100 yet?

I mean if it was just that easy to pass Endeavor, he would've never been the undisputed #2 hero when All Might was around. Endeavor sacrificed so much to reach this point, so I'm glad the anime is making sure people know just how deserved it was for him to take over the #1 spot in terms of work ethic and talent.

Considering how he can control the temperature of his flames, he can probably do the same with the ice. MHA really likes pushing metrics and nuance into the application of straightforward powers; Endeavor's entire philosophy revolves around it Deku controls power output in duration and percentages, Bakugo can control the volume and pressure of his explosions, so I think it makes perfect sense Shoto's ice has more variables than simply shape

Todoroki can control his fire & ice to the same degree by default, shoto has just been neglecting his fire side out of spite from his father, all those crazy pinpoint fire abilities endeavor does like hell curtain and hell spider, shoto will do similar things and has already did similar things with his ice & fire, shoto can manipulate the shape of his ice and temperature, just like his fire, shoto is basically nerfed like deku, but it’s shoto’s fault why he’s nerfed, shoto is essentially using 50% of his power, then using the other 50% which just means 50% here of cold solid(ice) then 50% there of hot plasma(fire) shoto actually using his quirk at full capacity would be flashfreeze heatwave, even shoto has said this multiple times because it’s cough cough obvious, shoto is nerfed from a power tier standpoint as well, if shoto could consistently attack with flashfreeze heatwave plus use it to make his speed higher he’d be capable of defeating allmight, he overpowered 100% deku and shoto is even hotter fire/cooler ice since then, shoto is nerfed, deku is nerfed(not as much obviously) and bakugo is just getting stronger while already being polished, Honestly here I don’t see how bakugo will eventually keep up with shoto once he starts consistently doing the flashfreeze heatwave technique

@@realtruth1448 Bakugo's power is very versatile while Shoto's is mainly for fighting. Explosion can be used for speed boosts, attacking, forcing the enemy back, causing a distraction, making a smokescreen and more. Both Bakugo and Deku are strategists from hanging out with each other for so long so while Bakugo may not be able to out perform Shoto in raw power once he masters his quirk Bakugo would still be able to put up a good fight and probably even win. In Deku's case the 100% he was throwing at Todoroki wasn't actually 100%. Because he was wrecking his own body while using it and while fighting he was trying to lower his output to do less damage to himself. When Deku's body can fully handle 100% his power will be stronger as well.

It doesn't make sense as to how Deku is slower than Bakugo. Bakugo was going all out in the fight and Deku was only using 8 percent. He is using at least 15 percent which is almost double which means he should be miles faster than Bakugo. I would understand if Bakugo got stronger but firstly its the winter and secondly he can't be growing as fast as Deku. Don't even get me started on Shoto.

It’s less a difference in travel speed and more reaction speed. Bakugo starts moving before Deku. It also has to do with propulsion as sometimes they’re moving high up and Deku has to jump, meaning there’s more time where he’s not propelling himself whereas Bakugo is always going at a consistent or rising rate

Is deku only using 5% when running? Im pretty sure Bakugo had trouble reacting at 8%. If he uses 15% or even 20% he shpuld be faster than endeavor.

i think deku is using 8% rn. at this current state, it's hard for him to use 20%. if i remember correctly, using 20% strains his body so he's not comfortable using it at this time. if he did, he can at least catch up with endeavor but i don't know about him being faster...

in this manga, everyone is faster than deku, shinso was barely able to cope, but uraraka defeated three 1/b class characters without his ability, sir nighteye defeated 2 characters, while deku barely coped with a beaten and broken chisaki. the whole manga is illogical in this regard he can't knock anyone out or catch up with 10%-15% of his power.

I'm pretty sure Midoriya is holding back his power and so is Bakugou when they are trying to chase after Endeavor because Endeavor definitely isn't a faster character and Midoriya should actually be the fastest out of the four of them considering his power can rise up in both power and speed while Bakugou has to release a certain amount of explosions in order to keep up but also to be able to fight. Midoriya doesn't have that problem since he can maintain his physical capabilities and the only thing he has to do is push further to maintain higher amounts. Either the writer is doing this on purpose which would be against the general point of this scene or it's an inconsistency. Also, how does sliding on ice help Todoroki keep up with them? Being slippery still doesn't fully solve that because he would need to be using both his fire and ice to slide consistently or to move his legs same way like Frozone from Incredibles.

Endeavor is definitely faster than all of them. That’s the entire point. He has incredible power and more importantly, control that allows him to maximize his output to blast himself forward. They literally explained the mechanics behind it basically being a more well trained version of Bakugo’s explosion based flight but it’s continuous. And imagine if Shoto built a pillar of ice under himself to raise himself higher. Now imagine him doing that but horizontally. He’s pushing himself forward by creating ice beneath and behind him.
