Al, I started boxing at age 12, but I have been surviving since age 8. My mom wanted me to learn how NOT to kill someone. Being adopted in the 60's meant that often you had to fight a kid, then his brother, then his brother's friends. I learned how to fight, fast. At age 13 I started my lifelong martial arts career. And at the age of 55, I had a severe stroke that almost eliminated my martial arts career. It's a good thing that I was in the trauma room of the a major hospital, surrounded by doctors and nurses that specialized in heart attacks and strokes, or I wouldn't be messaging you this! Thank you!!! The Regiment Blade that I have as a get-off-me tool is a blessing. I pray that I never need to use it. But unfortunately not everyone in this world is kind! Again, thank you!!!

I believe this system and weapon could suffice, if dealing with an attacker, who is not brandishing a knife. But then the issue of using deadly force against an unarmed assailant comes into play. Also striking or shoving the attacker with the open hand, and then thrusting with the knife, could end up with the pushing hand being stabbed if the timing is off.

I work on Mackinac Island MI (a horse and buggy job). I had the blacksmith make me a knife for fighting and it is shaped like that. He won the TV show where they make swords and such.

With all due respect, I don't think this is the way. I think the samurai methodology is better suited for the concealed carrier.

@@Mantistobogganmedia Tanto Jutsu. to put it bluntly, more calculated and precise strikes with a knife depending on the size of the blade. I think you will have to answer for the number of times you had to stab someone in self defense just like the number of times you shot someone.

I’m sorry. I typically have a great deal of respect for the professionalism that comes out of Carrytrainer. This knife fighting technique however is terribly flawed and looks completely made up. I’ve done a lot of Philippino and Silat training. That 2 handed stab technique would have you dead in a minute against someone who knew what they were doing. Your stomach was completely exposed the entire time. You have no parry ability and your forearms/wrists would be toast.
