Capri has such a great relation, with parrots , it amazes me very much, because I thought that parrots as a whole didn't really bond so quickly with children in relationships over an adult human, example my bird is terrified of small children , even though he loves going or stepping up to most any adult, of course, Capri is calm around them, where most younger kids move so much faster and in different ways than lets say a teenager, and she was raised around your flock but still, she has a gift, truly she does, Rusty seems to be coming around very good, thanx for showing "everything" about training, and just everything , love ya birdtricks family, Ive learned so much on how ro "be" with Jake! Go Rusty! ♥️

@@BirdTricks yes me also, and purely amazing, as you would agree, best mom, you Jamie and and dad, she's a wonderful girl, you did and are doing such a great job raising capri, so nice to see always!!👍♥️♥️ btw your flock and project birds, never stop being so kind! One more thing, I've had 3 birds in my lifetime so far, and I as an adult have learned so many things from all of you, much appreciated👍I always watch your master classes and project birds!

OMG!… I love him!… 🥰🥰 Rusty is the only one so far that I have been smiling for and getting extremely excited myself over his new-found enthusiasm today. He is just gorgeous and his personality is beginning to show in this once frightened little guy… Bless! Great job, Jamie Lee, and I can honestly say your passion for our feather butt buddies is beyond endearing. I can only hope he finds a wonderful place with a loving forever home. To all of you, your families, and everyone @BirdTricks … Stay Safe!… Stay Well!… Stay Positive! Stewart

Yes, I wonder about that also, hope there if possible, that Rusty can grow them back without plucking again giving a lesser chance for them to get to the point where he can't gro them back♥️

These Eclectus parrots seem SO calm in general. I wonder if anyone has ever tried a type of antidepressant or other psychoactive medicine to help with feather plucking? Completely clueless but they have such intelligence it seems like it might help🤷🏻‍♀️
@BirdTricks
@BirdTricks Жыл бұрын
Some people to use meds but they're like, sedatives basically. So the bird kind of does... nothing. I'm sure they are needed in specific cases but if I can find ways around needing to resort to that I think it's worth the effort for sure.

Hey I need some advice less than a year ago I got a cockatiel and I loved her more than some of my family members but 4 weeks ago she passed away unexpectedly and before that morning she was active happy and playful but when I woke up she was could barely move and then we rushed her to and avian specialist vet and he said she mostly likely wasn't going to live but he couldn't say what was making her die but only that it had been happening for a long time and three hours later she passed and now I just want to know what to do I want to get another bird but I am conflicted about it please help.

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry, I lost 6 chickens 3 years ago and still miss them, keep trying to figure out the cause of the death, I’d say wait a little and know you’ll never get the same bird again so don’t buy another to replace it just my opinion though you’ll know when you’re ready for another maybe you’ll get a chicken (very different but very cute)

Hi Jamie, I really hope u will see this but absolutely love ur videos but I was watching. One of ur ones from a little while back and it was about ‘how to get ur bird to eat healthy foods’. My budgie (Wally) loves spinach and u said u can purée spinach so how exactly do I do that
@BirdTricks
@BirdTricks Жыл бұрын
Simply put the spinach into a blender or food processor and it will be easily snuck into a lot of foods like that (like chop, birdie bread, etc)

I would like to know more about the reason behind the method you are using with the training stick at this point. Keep up the great work.
@BirdTricks
@BirdTricks Жыл бұрын
Target or touch training in general is just a hands-off approach that makes animals more likely to engage with you (especially fearful animals or nervous animals). It is also a type of misdirection, it gives them something they can do confidently in any environment and I can build a lot of different types of tricks off it to lead him through problem solving (aka mental engagement).
@crazymook591
@crazymook591 Жыл бұрын
@@BirdTricks thanks. Would I be close in understanding that what you are showing here with him just touching the tip of the stick is basically the first step?
