Nice video Stuart. The paddle you are using at 3:00 looks like a straight rod with no flattened ends - is that just an optical illusion?

dugaldcurtis it has slightly flattened ends, it’s a Greenland paddle (it was a day of trying new things!). The original kayak paddles were Greenland style.
