That game your pups are playing outside in the beginning of the video is called “Schnauzer keep away” in our house! 😂

Thank you Mimi! Yes! So important for us to recognize and "hear" our dogs speaking to us with their behavior. There are clues before a dog behaves badly and if we know how to read those clues we will be much better pack leaders and have a deeper bond with our dogs.

Sean- just a word of warning about the hoof toys. A close friend of mine had a similar hood toy that splintered and cut the dog’s gums. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for letting me know about that. I will ask my vet about their thoughts on this chew "toy" and I am open to other options if you know something better that helps them learn what chew toys are. Thank you!

What is a challenge, is a rescue 4 year old toy schnauzer. I rescued one from a breeder. She really needed a lot of patiences in training her. She was afraid of wind, rain, thunder storms, toys and she likes staying in her Crate. Retraining her to go outside for her business durning days of unsettled weather was a challenge. I accomplished this by going out side with her, dancing around in the rain....ya, I know...crazy woman syndrome . 😂 but every thing I did was to her benefit. I celebrate and call her name, when she pick up a toy. She has come a long way. Love car rides, my other schnauzer does not like car rides. Love the breed with their sassy, brilliant and loving ways. I have had schnauzers since I was 30.....about 40 years now. I would love to know how to get Pepi over the fear of the car. (She is my 4 yo mini). Maybe set her in the car and ????? I guess have a mini conversation, read, sing? My neighbors will really think I have lost it😂. Any Idea’s. She pants so fast and becomes limp.(any more that 20 miles, she hugs the seat and pants) Never had a dog do this. I have bought Calming meds, CBD for dogs. I do not want to rely on drugs......any Ideas? Thanks❤. Truffles is adorable, love the color.🐾❤️

Yes! Thank you Truffles is a chocolate phantom and I too love his color! Yes, my suggestion is that daily for a few minutes you just sit in the car with her. You could feed her in the car - put a towel on the floor of the car and let her eat her breakfast there when she is hungry first thing in the morning. Then build up to taking her for very short car rides each day - could be just driving your drive way at first, then one block, then around the block. Training her to like the car can also be done with a very long car ride if you have one coming up - riding all day sitting in your lap with you. Your story explains why it is sooooo important to socialize and train starting at a very young age! Thank you for watching my videos.

Good morning. Love this content. Super informative. As they get older and go out on a leash. Is it ok to walk on a double leash or should better to have individual leashes?
@svccschnauzers Жыл бұрын
Hello Mary, Thank you for watching! Have you found my playlists? I recommend you train your puppy with a leash to walk by him or herself on the leash. If you have another dog and your puppy is just getting how to walk on a leash the older dog can help but both would be on separate leashes. When the puppy is very comfortable walking on a leash then you can double them up. I personally don't do that because by the time they are well trained enough to be able to do that well they are voice trained and probably don't need the leash. Does that answer your question? THANK YOU for watching!
