I usually save my trips down to Dawlish for the summer and the better weather however on January 28th I saw that the forecast was reasonably clear, despite the cold temperatures and thought I'd go the beautiful Dawlish seawall and do some filming. Let's just say I'm glad I did. The weather was beautiful, a bit breezy and a few showers but overall it was a perfect winters day, the lighting at times was just incredible, glistening off the trains as they snake their way around the Devon Coastline. In this video I tried out a few new filming locations which I was more than pleased with. I decided to walk from Dawlish more or less right down to Dawlish Warren and stop and film along the way. I made it down to the curve which offers some beautiful opportunities for filming the trains sweep around the curve and then a clear view of them all the way around the bay. As well as here for the first time I climbed "Langstone" rock. This small peninsular which offers an almost aerial view of the railway. All of these fantastic spots and videos not to mention of the trains that turned up. The new GWR Green Set HST, 2 HST powercars back to back shuttling to Old Oak Common (London) from Laira Depot (Plymouth) and a Colas Rail Freight Class 70! As well as lots more of the regulars to Dawlish, HST's, 150's & 153's, Voyagers and the odd Pacer.
Thanks for Watching!
Hope you enjoyed viewing it almost as much as I enjoyed filming it, one of my favourite visits to Dawlish and I think one of my best videos from the seawall.
