Trains at Loughborough & Leicester, MML | 17/02/20

As days of EMR's VP-185 powered HST's are drawing to a close I once again headed for a ride up the MML to catch some of these beauties on film. I started by filming at Loughborough for about 45 mins before heading back on myself to Leicester where I filmed for a short while before joining an HST back to London St Pancras. This was filmed the weekend just after "Storm Dennis" had battered the UK leaving the rail network with quite substantial disruption due to flooding in places, power lines down and landslips. The MML seemed reasonably OK, just lots of "Tamper" trains around returning to base after their weekends work. Also you can see an HST set sat at Leicester which had terminated their after striking a garden shed! Which had blown onto the track. Thankfully no visible damage to the HST but apparently the driver was struggling to get the brakes fully released.
Also featured is a shot of an HST leaving St Pancras after my arrival in London.
