Trains at: Milton Keynes Central, WCML, 11/12/17

A very cold and interesting evening spent at the snowy station of Milton Keynes Central on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from London Northwestern Railway, Virgin Trains, Southern and freight from DB Cargo UK and Fre ightliner.
The reason for this visit was to film the running of the newly formed London Northwestern Railway with the aim of catching a 350 unit in its new livery. Sadly this didn't happen but I still enjoyed my time here none the less, the winter conditions adding to the overall feel of the station.
My next 4 films will be the concluding parts of my Chiltern Mainline Series before I move onto Clapham Junction to finish off my year.

The guard I was speaking to said that the wording "London Midland" is being taken off the sides of the Desiros for the time being and true to her word she pointed it out on the side of the unit joined to hers where it had been removed.

I had wanted to try and catch the new livery on the 350's, but the snow definitely added to the feel of the night. The snowmen definitely stole the snow

As always Jarred, a mot enjoyable film most certainly worth viewing, we got a snowman built in our garden so there's your 3rd snowman, pretty bad start for LNWR, hopefully not a sign of things to come, there's a 172 in the WMT livery. Keep up the good work and a thumbs up from me as always

MK seems to be getting better rail links every year, and with the East West Rail Link hopefully opening in the next few years more places will be open for people to travel to

I see the new Pendolino Livery brings the 390s on the West Coast Main Line into line with the East Coast Mainline Azuma 800s. The 390 livery is similar though. In the first snow of Winter 2017 has been unusually severe across the country with Milton Keynes Central station being no exception.

The reason for the new livery is because the DFT requires that they get repainted into a neutral livery for when this franchise goes up for bidding again. So VT have added the Azuma colours to still make them recognizable as Virgin Trains

I like trains and have been trying to find footage of the new livery London Northwestern units. While your video didn't capture any it was relaxing and informative! One question from someone who is a complete noob (and you probably get this a lot); do they let you onto the station to do this or do they insist you buy a ticket? If I ever head to London I tend to drive to MK to catch a Virgin Pendalino unit; oddly even with parking and petrol a ticket to London from MK on one of those tends to be cheaper (off-peak) than from Northampton!

I was hoping to catch the new livery but sadly it wasn't to be, hopefully next time I'm on the WCML I'll be able to see it. In regards to your question it completely depends on the station that I go to. When I go to MK I always buy a ticket to the next station just so it avoids any issues with station staff or security. So I'll get a ticket and then start filming. So in one sense I'm actually paying the company to film their rolling stock

There is a class 350 in the new livery. That would be 350373, which was shown on itv central. Class 319's hopefully get them soon. Also, how is my new profile pic? It's a class 172 in the brand new West Midlands Railway livery. My original profile pic was an Arriva Trains Wales class 158.

Not as of yet, there are a few trains running around with the LM name still on them. It will probably be like that for a few more weeks yet

The sound is ok, I just think they're ugly to look at. I know there's not many left, but I've always liked 56's. Living in the North West though I was brought up on 40's, Oh to have them back!

Tornado922 no doubt about that but LondonMidland will be missed by loads and some people are quite annoyed with the new change, I personally miss LondonMidland but i have faith that the new set of London Northwestern and Weatmidlands trains will definitely deliver

I know that some of the proposed changes have annoyed a few people but then they are compensating that by putting on additional services to other areas. Just means that a couple of stations will lose their direct links to London. But with the new plans and more trains it means that they can still get to the capital fairly easily. London Midland changed a lot on the WCML so hopefully LNWR will be able to do the same
