Just over an hour of filming at Newark Northgate station on the East Coast Mainline. Filmed during the afternoon of Wednesday 24th October 2018.
INCLUDES: LNER Class 800 Azuma (on a test run), HST's & 91/mk4 225 sets, Grand Central 180, East Midlands Trains 153's and a Freightliner class 66.

Saw a 153 in the sidings, just south of platform 2 and 3 it was quite cool it gave way to an HST terminating there

Great vid. I do like the 91’s and Mk4’s. Not keen in the Azumas but I dare say they will grow on me. Wasn’t keen on HSTs when they were first introduced, but love them now. Miss the howl of the Valentas though now. All progress, I suppose. None of the above, however good they are, will ever be a patch on a Deltic and a rake of Mk2d stock though!

4:06-4:16 driver should've blown the horn really loud to tell passengers to stay behind the platform edge and yellow line.

Went on one of the Hitachi trains from Exeter to Paddington the other day. Beautiful ride but the lack of buffet was bad. The trolley service never made it as far as where I was sat and I was desperate for a coffee!

The 801 is only on test, so it's pretty low on the priority list alongside freight, since it counts and an ECS.

I always preferred GNERs, Grand Central&GWRs Green livery. Maybe if LNER had Red with a White Stripe instead of White with Red stripe.

Why do NEW trains lack colour these days using mostly white or grey. Stagecoach the company who I thank for having colourful trains. No one else does it better then Stagecoach. I hate the manual announcements on the East Coast Mainline.

they mainly use white or grey because each franchise holder knows that there is a significant chance the DFT won't renew with them as the goal posts shift all the time... what's the point in painting a whole train when it will just have to be repainted in x number of years. That being said Great Western are pretty confident in their service. Jesus knows why, Went on a IEP train to Bristol... electrification just stopped in the middle of a field somewhere and reverted to diesel for the rest of the trip... fairly dire experience.

LNER's sets will have a buffet/bar! Saw it whist looking at one parked at Leeds :) That was the longer set though, unsure about the smaller sets

@@blob7282 One end of the train is a locomotive, and is heavy. The other end is just a vehicle made to look like a locomitive, and is quite light. If the light end hits an obstacle it is more likely to be derailed. Further, after the leading vehicle has derailed, the locomotive, which is not yet derailed, drives the remainder of the train into the derailment.

@@sylviaelse5086 at least DVT of a IC225 looks like locomotive... In continental Europe there are many trains pushed from the back, driven from a passenger carriage with the cab on the front. For example: DB IC "Wendezug", ÖBB Railjet, FS IC Sun, and many regional push-pull trains all over Europe. Soon to be also in Britain: TPE Mk5 push-pull trainsets.
