Some trains at Newport (South Wales) on Saturday 22 September 2018 featuring CrossCountry diverts.
There was much disruption due to defective track in the Patchway area so some London-bound services ran non-stop to Swindon via Gloucester whilst the CrossCountry diverts were re-diverted via Bath instead of Newport. Also the 2 Class 158 units sitting in Platform 4 (which originally formed the 1344 and 1444 services to Portsmouth Harbour) ran non-stop to Bristol Temple Meads.
Also Newport station is looking a mess because Network Rail removed the original footbridge and had to tear out some of the platform canopy at the same time because of electrification.
You may have noticed at the beginning of the video at Bristol Temple Meads announcements for the 0800 to London Paddington and then the announcements at Newport starting from 1300. This is because I originally went to Lydney from Newport, however I got cold and decided to return to Newport travelling via Gloucester. If I included this it would make the video over an hour long.
