I haven't been to Devon and Cornwall by train for 21 years as I'm too far away in Scotland and was on Intercity 125s, a green Great Western and a red Virgin. Plymouth station is located in a residential area (I wouldn't like to live there), but can be surprisingly silent when no trains are there. 52 miles along the line is Exeter St Davids and trains will have passed Totnes and Newton Abbot, before going next to the sea in Teignmouth and Dawlish.

A new maintenance depot (www.gwr.com/about-us/media-centre/news/2018/january/work-on-new-40-million-rail-depot-for-exeter-due-to-start). Hopefully, there'll be another 50 railtour down this way in the not too distant future. Would love to see 21 and 26 - I think there's talk of using them on a tour to Newquay at some point... Fingers crossed!
