Trains at Port Talbot Parkway, SWML - 24/7/18

Welcome to Episode 82 of Rover! Today I am at Port Talbot Parkway on the South Wales Main Line where services are seen by Great Western Railway and Arriva Trains Wales.
Port Talbot Parkway was another station to easily get around as it was all on one island. The views in both directions were great and you can actually see the trains rising up the gradient towards the station from Bridgend. The variety could have been better and would have improved slightly had a freight ran and a local Cardiff service not been delayed. However, the station was a good one with good facilities and around a nice bit of scenery.

great video that 175 driver was good with the horns and 153323 was great with speed and tones. u do also get steal trains there from trostre to margam about few times in the day and also the log train once a week

15:53 is it me or does the iet sound like it's on the electric unit but it's not

Under overhead wires 800s act like class 3xx EMUs so run directly on their electric traction motors, whereas on non electrified tracks they act like class 22x DEMUs, with a 750hp 21-litre V12 turbo-diesel MTU engine under each of 3 and 5 cars of a 5 and 9 car unit respectively acting as generators for the traction motors.
