Station History: Preston Park was opened by the London Brighton and South Coast Railway as Preston, on the 1st of November 1869. The was meant to serve the growing parish of Preston, then north of the Brighton boundary. The station was then enlarged and remodelled to its present day design, in 1879, during the construction of the Cliftonville Curve spur line which connects from the main line to Hove and the West Sussex coast line. The station was then renamed to Preston Park in 1879, despite the nearby Preston Park not existing till 1883.
The station code, is PRP.
