A little afternoon out & about on the trains left me with some time to kill at Preston station so I decided to do a little filming. Now quite a lot of disruption around on this day, particularly to services heading to Scotland. In a nutshell they could only go as far as Carlisle due to flooding further north. So with that being the case a lot of Avanti services were terminating at Preston and returning south. While only a few continued to Carlisle. As well as this, booked engineering works in the Manchester area meant there were no services to Manchester Airport via Piccadilly.
INCLUDED: Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolinos, Northern Rail 319's, 156's, 331's & 195's, TransPennine Express 397 & DB Schenker 66130.

Standard fayre for Preston Station my local good to see a bit of freight near the end

Yes 🙌🏼 because of the closure north of Carlisle, there wasn’t as much freight as usual

Great video! Is it my imagination or do most of the Avantis have misaligned headlights? Also is it normal to have rear driver cab lights on? Thanks and cheers 🍻 to all!

Not misaligned headlights. They have one running light or main headlight and a side light. They change sides depending on it being day or night as to not dazzle other drivers
