Sandy is awesome as is the Whole East Coast Mainline. Very soon the 5 and 9 coach 800s will run between Kings Cross and Edinburgh. Since they can run on non-electrified lines Stagecoach which will take over the franchise could add additional services to Aberdeen. Thameslink offers the people of Sandy the choice of travel to Gatwick Airport, Brighton and Horsham. Looking forward to the 800s running on the East Coast Mainline.

Thats a local spot of mine. The crossing you mention is at Tempsford, there are actually 2 of them. The 2nd one is the best and can be accessed from Station road in Tempsford (1 junction south from Black cat roundabout, but can only access heading south). From your standpoint on the bridge looking north is where the EWR railway will cross the ECML somewhere between you and the 1st crossing and this will be the location of the new station if the protesters lose their battle to preserve the current Sandy station.

It is a great spot to go to, especially when the weather wants to play ball. Just has a nice atmosphere about it. When the EWR finally gets built and does meet the ECML it would make more sense to have a junction station built instead of having two separate ones, obviously people would see it more of a inconvenience really than anything else but ultimately you would want to have a good link between the two lines. I may very well look into trying to get to the 2nd crossing going from your description :)

Tornado922 the 1st crossing has gantries obstructing the view but you can get some views ok. The station road crossing has parking for two cars and has an excellent view looking north from the east side. Looking south is ok. From the west side it's not very goid. Either way. Thomas Mason Scott rail are taking some class 43 HST sets but GWR are taking some class 365’s

As GreatNorthern introduce new 387 and 700 units some 365s are leaving them and going into storage. Some 365s that have left are going to Scotland. They're no longer bound for the West. Hope this makes sense.

Another fantastic clip Jarred from what i've been hearing it will be a shame that the 225's will be sent to work The Blackpool line when that route is electrified in the same that GWR has sent some of it's HST's to Scotrail. Still at least both will still be working for some time yet despite the new IEP sets being rolled out the displaced HST's working the Glasgow-Edinburgh runs among others.

I use RealTimeTrains to know where the trains are coming from, in terms of getting the numbers it just comes down to plenty of practice of knowing where to look on the trains
