I must say the filming and attention to the 455s was brilliant! Plus this is a very strange station due to the layout and its actual importance in serving Crawley. Great video!

Thanks IXClubman, as you alluded to, this is actually quite a difficult station to film at due to the obstacles and layout. The 455s were a favourite of mine being camshaft machines and helped to break up all the electrostars in south London. I’m glad you enjoyed 😃

Three Bridges was my local station for over forty years. Behind the fence on Platform 5 used to be the bay platform for the direct line to East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells, closed in the mid sixties.

this is my local train station, i used to use the Horsham to Peterborough service to go to college and then use the reverse service to come home, and now i use the Peterborough to Horsham to go to work

Hi Craig, amazingly, there are no Southern 455/8s left in existance but SWR 455/7, 455/8s and 455/9s are still used but these use a different traction system and are largely none original. I hope at least one 455/7 will be preserved but they aren't very appealing to preserved railways because they're effectively unpowered. Hope this helps.

What a dispatcher standing in the way of everything

Southern dispatchers are some of the worst for that. Despite all of the passenger trains in this video having coach cameras for driver only operation, GTR still require them to help dispatch. As for the video, it is what it is, I remember him being a nice guy though! 😃

Thameslink and Southern that are run by GTR should be kept as they are once GTR is over. As Thameslink serves incredible services with their Class 700 Desiro City units that replaced the Class 319, Class 377/5 and Class 387/1. And perhaps Southern should replace the Class 313 "Coastway" units if they were to order new trains. As they are getting rid of the Class 455 that are heading for scrap.
