@StarlifeStudios2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Inky Squid, I think the 717s would look better with some yellow so they resemble the 700s. I don't really like either desiros because of the BR-stock they replaced. The DVTs do look good 😃

Welham Green railway station serves the village of Welham Green in Hertfordshire, England. It is 15 miles 50 chains measured from King's Cross on the East Coast Main Line. Welham Green is just south of the scene of the Hatfield rail crash in 2000 and was initially identified in BBC broadcasts as the location of the accident.

A little! Unfortunately, I talk to them a lot but it rarely leads to anything - apparently videoing trains the day after the Queen passed away is suspicious 🤷🏼♂️ I feel bad because a lot of the time they travel a long way just to see me 🤣

The Class 717 does look like a spaceship even though they do look really nice. And Siemens could of manufactured the Class 7xx Desiro City to replace the Class 455 & Class 313 used on Southern suburban services and Southern "Coastway" routes. And Great Northern could of inherited the Class 379s to be used on King’s Cross-Cambridge & King’s Lynn services. Whilst the Class 387/1 & 387/3s would be used on KX-Peterborough service.

It’s a shame the traction on the ecml has got so much worse than it used to be. It will be even worse when the 91s retire! On that note does anyone know when they’re scheduled to be retired?
@StarlifeStudios2 жыл бұрын
Nothing confirmed on the 91s, but, LNER have been avoiding expensive exams for the locos for a few months. I wouldn’t expect these to be around for many more years (or even months). Given the recent culling for stock by the DfT, the 91s could become victims.

Beautiful as always, thanks! Why is there so much less freight traffic on the ECML? (in comparison to the WCML)
@StarlifeStudios2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind comments. I believe its mostly due to pathing constraints (south of peterborough adnd Welwyn North are double track). The West Coast also has better links to most freight terminals (like Hams Hall, Trafford Park etc.)
