Trains at York - 16/09/2021

Filmed on 16/09/2021. For the first time since March 2020, Northern & LNER are running a full timetabled service which means a re visit to York (Season 8 Episode 30) Also a rare double rail tour that doesn't normally run during a weekday but normally on a weekend.
It was the right place at the right time as we just made it to see the arrival of Northern's daily service which runs between Scarborough & York via Hull. Lumo Trains is also making way for their brand new train services which are seen on driver training runs. As part of First Group, Lumo Trains hired a Hull Trains and Transpennine Express Hitachi class 802's on London Kings Cross to Edinburgh diagrams.
Double rail tour action of Merchant Navy British India Line no. 35018 which ran the final day of The Scarborough Spa Express. Class A1 no. 60163 Tornado was also in action with The Jorvick Express from Liverpool Lime Street which was re dated to a later date due to 'C'.
Cross Country Trains and Transpeninne Express are still operating roughly 85% of services which are running. A few daily Cross Country services which runs via Doncaster with most via Leeds but with additional compacity available. Transpennine Express Nova 3 sets operates daily services between Scarborough to Manchester Victoria which is one of only 2 services from Scarborough. The 21:34 to Manchester Airport from Scarborough is operated by pairing class 185 Desiro units.
During a good 3 hours at York, this is the variety that was seen:

I know this is a year after you made this video but at 0:15 I believe you made an error, trains from Scarborough can only go on platforms 2, 3, 4 and 5. And that train is not arriving to any of the listed Platforms, I believe because it’s a northern service and because of what platform it was arriving in it had come from either Harrogate or Leeds, I don’t want to criticise I just wanted to let you know for next time, either way great video!

No, this isn't an error my friend. Allow me to explain: Northern operates a once a day train that runs from Scarborough to York via Hull. The train leaves Scarborough at 08:15 and arrives into York just after 11am. No, your not criticising at all it's cool. @@RickyNowis ah! That makes a lot more sense now, because usually the trains come from the fringe signal box (Strensall) to York, I didn’t know they could come down the ecml from seamer. Thanks for explaining.
