Trains Gameplay Runthrough

I love the idea of this game (deck building + board play), but whenI played it I felt underwhelmed. Something about how the cards all give you the money AND the action, AND there's no limit on what you can play in your turn made it feel to me like there were very few decisions to make. I enjoy hand management and gameplay choices as well as just which card to put into my deck, and Trains doesn't provide that for me.

15.23. The cost isn't 3 coins and a waste. It costs a waste to lay track and an extra waste for building on another players track, a total of 2 waste.

What do I do with the border around the board and what about the victory points??

I'm confused why the waste just keeps dissapearing. Why would you sacrifice an entire turn for waste management if you just discard them all at the end of your turn anyways?

well the longer they stay in the deck, the more they gum up the works. which is why if you hit a threshhold where you're drawing so much waste that you can never get anything meaningful done, it might be worthwhile to spend a turn getting rid of some of it :)
